Caldara: On January 1, I became a criminal in my hometown of Boulder (AR-15 Ban)

It’s not the intolerance of progressives that is so insulting. It is the denial of their intolerance that is so abusive.

~~~~SNIP~~~~
Because I own a long gun with a pistol grip and a detachable magazine, I had to the end of December to self-identify to the police, present myself for investigation and my gun for inspection, pay fees in order to receive a police-issued permission slip, all to avoid jail time, monetary penalties, and the confiscation and destruction of my gun.
~~~~SNIP~~~~

For publicly stating that I will not comply, my daughter has been targeted at her Boulder school, the one with posters celebrating tolerance and diversity all over the walls. My refusal to submit has been commented on by teachers in front of their classes. She has been ganged up on by students and bullied because “her father is a murderer.” She is worried that I will be taken to jail. As a single dad to her and her handicapped brother, I have to admit I’m worried about that too.

I say I’m cursing them because someone might get upset if I say that the best thing to do to these tyrants is to blow their brains out.

But where I’m a polite person I’d NEVER say such a thing.

Interesting, I thought it was only Denver, as the state capitol. Still, a law was passed to prevent the patchwork of gun laws and make them uniform throughout the state so people didn’t commit a crime by crossing into the next jurisdiction.

That appears to be correct:

Denver's restrictions on transport/possession of firearms in vehicles do not apply to persons traveling to or from other jurisdictions; see Trinen v. City & County of Denver, 53 P.3d 754. (4th from the bottom in the Summary Table)

Somewhere I had that original Trinen lawsuit. It was very good, though he had mixed success.

I’ll have to dig around.

Because Jon Caldara didn’t organize his patriot neighbors to elect a pro-2nd amendment, constitutional sheriff in his county, he’s under threat by rogue fascist cops and politicians.

If he had elected a constitutional sheriff, that sheriff could have challenged any gestapo cop who threatened him or his family. Because he didn’t do his duty to protect himself and his family, he’s about to get a gestapo boot in his face.

I have a constitutional sheriff in my county. When a rogue police chief tried to harass citizens, the police chief was read the riot act and resigned and left the county in 48 hours.

If you people don’t get it to protect your community and family from leftist pigs, then you deserve every misery visited on you.

Can’t speak for Boulder, but can assure you if any law enforcement tried that where I live, they’d all find a steaming crater where their houses used to be - and that fear keeps them in check. It’s good to have a healthy fear of free men.

Guess I don’t have it any more. I think he lost, but paved the way for the pro gun laws that followed. I posted it here at the time.

Good thing because our RKBA is about to come under assault.

Ridiculous. It's Boulder, that ain't going to happen. Find out who Caldera is and then tell me all about how you do more to protect our liberties.

“Ridiculous. It’s Boulder, that ain’t going to happen. Find out who Caldera is and then tell me all about how you do more to protect our liberties.”

So you Boulder “conservatives” are incapable of defending yourselves by organizing and voting for a constitutional sheriff. I’m not surprised.

Enjoy a jackboot in your faces...

I don’t live in Boulder. Where I live my sheriff is a good guy. But you move to Boulder and show us how it’s done. Or just pound your keyboard.

So did you look into Caldera? How have you done more than he has? Be specific and show your work. I bet what he is doing just by this specific action is more than you have.

“...if any law enforcement tried that where I live, they’d all find a steaming crater where their houses used to be...”

Brought about by what means? Steaming crater, what are you going to do, boil it to the ground? Not being snarky and I do believe there are plenty of rogue cops to worry about.

But a lot of FReepers have rifles in their safes and plenty of ammo. So what? How will we be galvanized into mass action?

A partial answer might be those organized militias which could serve as the nucleus for a popular movement that takes to the streets armed. At that, do the po-po go full armored fascist like they did in Boston (a liberal disarmed city to be sure), or do they pause and realize that the sun will set on their heads too?

I don’t know. But the snitch laws are endangering our rights under the eyes of the police establishment, and no secret police can function without informants. Going full Galt underground is the only workable tactic for now.

While this ordinance is clearly unconstitutional, I believe such local ordinances are designed to provoke armed confrontations between law enforcement and the public which will lead to more stringent gun laws and eventually gun confiscation. Imagine an innocent law abiding citizen who just happens to own one of the banned weapons. Acting on some annoymous phony tip, a police SWAT Team is dispatched to collect these “illegal” weapons and without warning breaks down the citizen’s door in the middle of the night. A fire fight ensues and several LEOs are killed. The media will make this a cause celebre for gun control and will show phony pictures of a hidden arsenal and trumpet how this dangerous gun nut was going to carry out mass murder. Note Hitler was very successful with this technique and used a fire at the German Reichstag set by his SS as a pretext to disarm the people for public safety.

The article is about confiscation:

“Because I own a long gun with a pistol grip and a detachable magazine, I had to the end of December to self-identify to the police, present myself for investigation and my gun for inspection, pay fees in order to receive a police-issued permission slip, all to avoid jail time, monetary penalties, and the confiscation and destruction of my gun.”

My reply was why the F didn’t the clowns in Boulder anticipate impending trouble and elect a pro-2nd amendment, constitutional sheriff to prevent confiscation and jackboot harassment? They had years to prepare.

What don’t you understand about that?

And no, I haven’t done sh*t to help the poor dumbasses in Boulder County. That’s their responsibility, not mine.

I have no idea what point you’re trying to make, so goodbye.

C3H8, commonly known as propane, is heavier than air. A 20 lb container costs about $10.00. Most homes have basements. You do the math.

I’ve been to Boulder ONCE. That was to see Charlton Heston speak.

Today, he would be run out of town.

I was there once too. To see Tom Horn's grave.

Confiscation raids will mean war in the streets.

Freeze bank accounts, cut off electricity, yeah, yeah.

Consent of the governed means something. Withdraw that and badges start to mean nothing.
