For the first time in years, I was able to fit into a size 38 pants today which I wore to the weigh-in. When I started my weight loss odyssey back on May 27 this year, I was barely able to fit into a size 46 pants.
I lost weight this time but not as much as during the past two weigh-ins. I'm blaming Thanksgiving, specifically Thanksgiving pumpkin pie-cake which I sort of gorged on. However, there is now a very good chance that I will drop down to my 220 pound goal of 100 total pounds lost by my next weigh-in on February 1.
I drink beverages by Bevi, Lavit and Crystal Geyser.
Carbonated and flavored water is delish.
I actually cut down on my caffeine intake as well.
1-3 cups of coffee is fine.
During weeks where I get zero to 2-3 hours of sleep a night I’ll drink tons of coffee and hope the next week my brain shuts off so I can sleep....
Yeah, I already feel like I’ve added 10 years to my life.
Losing the weight is the easy part. Keeping it off is much harder. Good luck.
That’s great! Keep it up.
I have worn 34 for 50 years except for a year I let myself get up to 36. I quit eating donuts and started walking up stairs 13 floors several times a day and it went away.
Same here. 25# since October 6. Eat less. Move more. Diagnosed with diabetes. Sucks. I guess it’s a family thing. I eat right. Active. Sleep good. And BP under control. Still fear what the end life cycle will be. 225 to 200. I think work stress is the biggest problem.
Way to go, PJ! And don’t apologize for losing “only” ten pounds! Heck, that’s fantastic and you could have gained ten instead! So glad for you!
I’m a 38. Was a 36 in high school. I’m just a wide body. I do weights, so I carry a good bit of weight in my arms and shoulders. I’m at about 238 and pretty steady. Had heart surgery right at a year ago and it took me down to 200. But once my sternum healed and I picked it back up in the gym, my weight crept back up to a more normal level. I would like to drop 10 - 15, but I am a single banker who stays very busy and it is tough for a single man to eat the pristine diet needed to trim down. But I am a hard 238, certainly not sloppy. Got to head out to meet somebody. Will be a couple of days before I read any reply.
Congratulations on your weight loss.
If I am in a store, and see some guy dropping his drawers, I will probably freak out.
One question- doesn’t your toe that hooks over your other toes hurt? It looks like it would.
Wow! Congratulations to you!!
Not at all. I can't even remember when that happened. All I know is that one day I looked at my foot and spotted it like that. So no pain at all but it does make for a conversation piece.
Great job...
HOORAY PJ!!!
Good for you. I’m hovering between a 40 and a 38, myself, whereas I was a solid 44 two years ago. Went back on phentermine about ten days ago, and it’s helped keep my holiday grazing to a minimum.
Yes, the fact that you’ll live longer and feel better are huge rewards. Long-term rewards.
What is really admirable (and amazing) about this achievement in the present is the discipline it took to lose that much!
So it’s a victory for your health, and a victory for your self-esteem, richly deserved.
Don't know if you heard of/tried it, but consuming a little roasted garlic each day can also be useful....both for metabolism and for antioxidants...
The main thing for me was taking Crave Stop which completely eliminated my carb cravings. In fact, since I started taking it, the only big carb intake I had was my sister-in-law's pumpkin pie cake I ate over Thanksgiving and that weekend. It wasn't carb cravings that pulled me in but the memory of how good her pumpkin pie cake tasted. One piece let to another and another and another and...
However in general I have avoided the carbs because I take Crave Stop daily. In fact, just about 10 minutes ago I swallowed a capsule.
Great job.
I have gone up and down several times in my life, but it was always pretty strict calorie restriction diets. Problem was, when I was “done”, I started gaining the weight right back.
Last year I tried keto/low carb. Started on Columbus day 2017 when I weight over 250( 57yo, 6 ft 1in tall, probably weight 260+ six months earlier, but I always lose some weight in the summer), by September of this year I was probably 192/3, so about a 70 pound drop from my max. I did keto pretty strict the first 6-9 months (net carbs under 50g), lost weight pretty fast at first. As summer came I was adding back carbs as I felt I was losing energy playing/walking golf in the summer heat. Calorie wise probably averaging north of 2,500 a day, probably gone up the past few months, I have added a few pounds in the fall, but I have also been lifting weights a bit, might be a small muscle gain too.
I went from a 44-46 pant waist down to 36-38, and still there. I plan on keeping eating low carb probably for the long term, not necessarily keto, but closer to a type of diabetic diet even though I’m not diabetic. Avoid all sugary drinks, things with high fructose corn syrup/added sugar, very little bread. Diet is heavy on meat, cheese, nuts, vegetables, and high fiber fruits.
Thanks first Ive heard of crave stop.
