A man of wealth who loved his country enough to risk it all in WWII and almost gave the ultimate price. What ever else he was a great American. RIP Mr President.
And while the details of Donald Trumps net worth are murky, its been estimated that he reportedly has more money than every other U.S. president combined.
And I just hit halfway there in our marriage.
I never thought he was super-rich. Much richer than I’ll ever be, but nothing compared to the Kennedys or Clintons or Trumps.
Let’s talk about that Obama and Clinton “wealth”.
Not surprising but what they left out was the fact that Bush Sr. headed out to Texas on his own and got his own start in the oil business by selling oil drilling equipment which then evolved into his forming his own oil company.......He wasn’t what you would consider a typical Kennedy........
We will never see another President who has served in the military.
I wish he had beem serious when he said “Let’s take our pain early”. It would have saved a lot of grief.
Haha
He was not super rich. He was worth more than I am, but not by much. He was not even close to Trump. And Trump’s wealth makes him pretty much immune to bribery or influence from campaign donors. That is what the left hates the most.
Might be true. The younger people dont revere the sacrifice serving the country holds now days. Movie stars served back then too. Glen Miller died over the English Channel going to entertain the troops. Not so many around now. Its a shame.
I have yet to see a mention of Prescott Bush, HW’s father, who was a Senator from Connecticut in the 50’s. His father as well was prominent in the Hoover Administration. The Bush family’s service in politics goes back a long way
“The Bushes are the epitome of old moneytheir wealth stretches back generations, and they are rich, but never flashy.”
They always seem to leave out the detail that their family wealth was made funding Hitler.
Huh??? I know of many ex-servicemen and women, and a few still in, who would make fine Presidents. What exactly do you mean?
There it is, before they can even say Bush was a World War 2 Vet and fighter pilot who survived being shot down, they have to say he had a silver spoon in his mouth.
So when in fact he was elite as judged by skill they have to make it sound like he had everything handed to him and divide by societal wealth, class.
I never meant to imply GHWB was an angel. I think as ex-cia director he was the ring leader of the Iran/Contra operation and Reagan didnt keep up with all that was going on till the crap hit the fan. But he flew in WWII and was shot down over Chi Chi Jima and a U S sub saved his azz. Money aint shitz in a life raft. Iran/Contra was a way around a left wing crap Congress. It dont bother me either.
