A Brief History Of Leftist Political Violence This Year
Sultan Knish blog ^ | 31OCT18 | Daniel Greenfield

On September 9, Rudy Peters, the Republican running for Congress in the 15th District in California, was attacked by a knife-wielding man shouting, "F___ Trump".

The attacker, Farzad Fazeli, an Iranian Clinton supporter, had previously posted, “Don Trump won’t clean his own house, so he’s too dirty to know right from wrong. Impeach/incarcerate him before more children die. P.S. complacency is worse than being the shooter.”

The next month, Shane Mekeland, a Republican running for the Minnesota House of Representatives, suffered a concussion after being punched in the face at a restaurant. “You f____g people don't give a s___ about the middle class,” his assailant had shouted at him.

Mekeland is back on the campaign trail, while still recovering from the assault. “The media and the likes of Maxine Waters, Hillary, and Eric Holder as of late is driving this behavior," he warned.

"If you see anybody from that cabinet in a restaurant, at a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd. And you push back on them, and you tell them they’re not welcome anymore, anywhere," Rep. Maxine Waters had urged an angry leftist mob.

Eric Holder, Obama’s attorney general and a possible 2020 candidate, had urged, “When they go low, we kick them." He had tweeted at Democrats, urging them to, “Use the rage.”

Hillary Clinton had told CNN, "You cannot be civil with a political party that wants to destroy what you stand for, what you care about."

Senator Hirono had refused to condemn the harassment of Republicans, telling CNN, "This is the kind of activism that occurs and people make their own decisions. If they violate the law, then they have to account for that.”

That same month, also in Minnesota, State Rep. Sarah Anderson, a Republican, was punched by a man when she tried to stop him from vandalizing her campaign signs.

Also in October, Kristin Davison, the campaign chief for Adam Laxalt, the Republican candidate for governor in Nevada, was left with pain and bruises after a confrontation with a Democrat operative. Her alleged assailant faces a charge of misdemeanor battery.

Three violent attacks on Republican political figures in just one month alone earned almost no coverage in the media.

Instead the media egged it on. Even the country’s leading leftist papers urged greater displays of rage.

October editorials, columns and op-eds in the New York Times included headlines such as, "Get Angry, and Get Involved," "Tears, Fury or Action: How Do You Express Anger?", “Fury Is a Political Weapon And Women Need to Wield It.”

The explosion of violence against Republicans in October was the culmination of a climate of crazed hatred, which lead to death threats, and when those were unaddressed, to actual physical violence.

In the two months from May to June, 30 Republican members of Congress were attacked or threatened.

These included, Christopher Michael McGowan who warned Rep. Bob Goodlatte’s staff, "I am not making a joke. I will kill him." It included Steve Martan, a "pacifist", who threatened to shoot Rep. Martha McSally.

E. Stanley Hoff was arrested for leaving a message for Rep. Steve Stivers warning the Ohio Republican, "We're coming to get every g_____n one of you and your families. Maybe the next one taken down will be your daughter."

Messages aimed at Rep. Tom Garrett threatened, "This is how we're going to kill your wife", and "This is what I'm going to do to your daughters."

And Rep. David Kustoff was nearly run off the road.

In the middle of June, James Hodgkinson, a passionate Bernie Sanders supporter, opened fire at a Republican charity baseball practice, seriously wounding Rep. Steve Scalise, and Zack Barth, an aide to Rep. Roger Williams. Even though Hodgkinson had a hit list of conservative Republicans, Rep. Mo Brooks, South Carolina Rep. Jeff Duncan and Arizona Rep. Trent Franks, Rep. Jim Jordan, Tennessee Rep. Scott DesJarlais and Virginia Rep. Morgan Griffith, the FBI denied that it was a political assassination.

In August, Carlos Bayon was arrested for threatening House Majority Whip Steve Scalise and House Republican Conference Chairwoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers. “We are not going to feed them sandwiches, we are going to feed them lead,” he declared.

Law enforcement found bomb and assassination manuals in Bayon’s house.

Around the same time, DeReal Finklin, a registered Democrat, was charged for sending death threats to Rep. Christopher H. Smith. DeReal had also posted, "Anybody outside of my blood in Monmouth or Ocean County on my Facebook account, you are dead."

In June, Laurence Wayne Key, a Democratic Party of Marin County volunteer, was arrested for threatening to kill Rep. Brian Mast’s three children.

"I’m going to find the Congressman’s kids and kill them. If you’re going to separate kids at the border, I’m going to kill his kids,” the Planned Parenthood supporter threatened.

In Florida, in June, Steve St. Felix was charged with threatening to kill Rep. Jose Felix Diaz.

“Ill kill your ass and you better not show up to the next rec meeting,” St. Felix, who can be seen grinning widely in his booking photo, warned.

In July, in Tennessee, Clifton Ward was indicted for threatening to kill Rep. Diane Black. In New York, Martin Astrof allegedly tried to run over one of Rep. Lee Zeldin’s campaign workers who had been recognized for feeding rescue workers at Ground Zero after 9/11.

Ian Nicholas Nix was arrested for threatening to kill South Carolina state Rep. Steven Long. Nix called Long “right-wing scum” and warned him, You’re a ____ dead man.”

Also in July, a man who threatened to chop up Senator Rand Paul and his family with an axe was arrested.

After months of this, the media did not relent. It poured more fuel on the fire. The death threats of summer then became the violent assaults of fall.

The media called this “activism”. It denounced Republicans for warning of “angry mobs”.

And now the very same media has suddenly decided that threatening and assaulting people whose politics you disagree with is wrong. As long as the political figures being assaulted are Democrats.

But it doesn’t work that way.

Democrats and their media allies have sanctioned violence against Republicans. They’ve defended harassment and even assaults as activism. They have embraced and celebrated hate groups. The mob culture they have brought forth is fundamentally changing the rules of American politics.

Once political terror is unleashed, it can’t be controlled or compartmentalized.

Leftists, who have written a bloody history of political terror from Europe to South America, from the Middle East and across Asia, and right back to America, ought to know that better than anyone else.

The Left has made it its mission to destroy America. This is what destroying a country looks like.

In academia, there is glib talk of overturning Western civilization. But without civilization, there is only savagery.

The mad toll of death threats and assaults, of shootings and harassment was unleashed by the Left. The hectoring media has made millions from it. Fortunes have poured into the war chests of radical Democrats. They can make it stop. Or they can go on feeding the beast while blaming conservatives.

We must not let these idiots destroy our country, but even if, and particularly because, we might win on November 6th, these people will make it all so much worse.

But, remember this... if they succeed in taking the House on Election Day, this will convince them that their campaign of intimidation, extortion, fear, incitement and outright violence has worked, and will lead them to total power. They will triple down on all of the above, and this country will disintegrate into chaos. This MUST NOT happen!

And no, this is not a “dog whistle”, whatever that idiotic phrase means, it is a warning. We cannot afford anything less than sticking to the truth. We must not at the same time replicate the hypocritical perfidy we see committed by the Democrats and the leftist media. The rule of law is everything, it must be adhered to, and enforced!

The first threats against Goodlatte were also in 2017, in December... even afte getting interviewed by the feds the jerk persisted and amped it up sometime later in 2018 :

Department of Justice
U.S. Attorney’s Office
Western District of Virginia

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Friday, April 6, 2018
Roanoke Man Arrested for Threatening Congressman Bob Goodlatte
Christopher McGowan is Charged with One Count of Making a Threatening Communication Through Interstate Commerce
Roanoke, VIRGINIA – United States Attorney Thomas T. Cullen announced today the arrest of a Roanoke man accused of using social media to communicate threats against U.S. Congressman Bob Goodlatte. Congressman Goodlatte represents the Sixth Congressional District of Virginia in the United States House of Representatives and is the Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee.
The United States Attorney’s Office charged Christopher Michael McGowan, 38, in a criminal complaint with one count of making a threatening communication through interstate commerce.
“Federal law criminalizes threatening communications made through the internet or a telephone, and these types of threats are not protected by the First Amendment,” U.S. Attorney Cullen stated. “As this case indicates, our office will act swiftly to address threats of gun violence.”

According to the criminal complaint and affidavit, on or about December 17, 2017, McGowan allegedly tweeted to United States Congressman Bob Goodlatte a series of messages threatening the Congressman.
“I will do this in full belief I am defending the constitution of the United States. I am not making a joke. I will kill him. Should you believe my doing so would be illegal please arrest me so we can have this discussion in court BEFORE I actually do it. Thank you.”
On December 18, 2017, officers with the Botetourt County Sheriff’s Office visited McGowan at his home and interviewed him. During the interview, McGowan admitted to sending the tweets the previous day, but stated he did not own firearms and did not intend on hurting Congressman Goodlatte or anyone else.
In a subsequent series of tweets sent from McGowan to Congressman Goodlatte on April 1, 2018, however, McGowan stated the following:
“I’m serious, @BobGoodlatte6 …you keep f**king with our constitution and challenging Mueller and the last you see will be my patriot ass behind a gun you should have long ago have prevented me owning pulling a trigger to your head (SIC). Want me arrested>? GO head.”
“#1 threatened my congressman with violence #2 stated I would kill people. #3: pretty much declared I would commit a plethora of anti-social behavior, publicly. Whom would like to bet I can purchase a gun three days from now and NOT be locked up in jail? #proudtobeanAmerican”
“…Corruption happens on so many levels and in so many ways…but YOU have truly taken it to an extreme. History will hate you even more than I do. You better get on those gun laws. I am buying one intended for you in 3 days. Can you legally stop me?”

McGowan was arrested this morning and had his initial appearance in U.S. District Court this afternoon. He was remanded to the custody of the United States Marshals pending a bond hearing next Wednesday.
The investigation of the case was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Roanoke City Police Department, the Botetourt County Sheriff’s Office, and the United States Capitol Police. Assistant United States Attorney Jake Jacobsen will prosecute the case for the United States.
A criminal complaint is only a charge and not evidence of guilt. The defendant is entitled to a fair trial with the burden on the government to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.

E. Stanley Hoff was another one from 2017... he made his threats just days after the baseball diamond shootings.
And Hoff had a record of violence, turns out:

Westerville man pleads guilty to threatening GOP congressman Steve Stivers

1 min read
The Westerville man who threatened a congressman showed up in court Tuesday morning asking to be free on bond pending his trial.
Three hours after his request was denied, E. Stanley Hoff was back in front of U.S. District Judge Michael H. Watson to plead guilty to threatening to assault and murder U.S. Rep. Steve Stivers, an Upper Arlington Republican, and his family.
The charge carries a 10-year prison term, but sentencing guidelines would call for much less, Assistant U.S. Attorney Kevin Kelley said.
During the morning session, Assistant Federal Public Defender Barshaunda Robinson said Hoff, 68, had completed an anger-management program in jail. He also has someone with whom he could stay on the outside, Robinson said, and there are multiple programs available to help his control his behavior.
Then Kelley played a voice mail recording of Hoff’s call to Stiver’s Hilliard office. It was June 18, four days after a gunman wounded GOP House Majority Whip Steve Scalise and four others during a practice for a charity baseball game in Alexandria, Virginia.
“We are coming to get every (expletive) one of you and your families. We are taking our country back. We are on the march,” Hoff said. “The other day is the tip of the iceberg. I’ve tried to warn you.
“Maybe the next one taken down will be your daughter. Huh? Or your wife. Or even you.”
Kelley asked Watson to keep Hoff confined to the Franklin County jail.
“Good enough for me,” Watson said.
“There’s no set of circumstances adequate enough to condone that type of thinking,” the judge said, before reading a list of Hoff’s criminal record, which includes disorderly conduct, assault and battery, resisting arrest, felony theft and aggravated menacing.
“The motion for release on bond is overruled,” Watson said.
After the morning hearing, Kelley said, “We’re not giving him any kind of a deal.”
Watson had scheduled Hoff’s trial for Nov. 13, which he later cancelled. Instead, he will be sentenced in two to three months.

Carlos Bayon’s message gives you the wam fuzzies for open immigration :

“Hey listen, this message is for you and the people that sent you there. You are taking ours, we are taking yours. Anytime, anywhere. We know where they are. We are not going to feed them sandwiches, we are going to feed them lead. Make no mistake you will pay. Ojo por ojo, diente por diente [Spanish for ‘an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth’]. That is our law and we are the majority. Have a good day.”

This one's actually NOT a case of a leftist or Democrat threatening a Republican. In this case Steve St. Felix is a Republican and the dispute was over how Diaz runs a Republican Exec committee. Turns out St. Felix needs medication for a psychological problem that develop after high school and he had not taken his meds when he made the threat.

Yep! More blood is going to be shed. The reason I used the word “more” is our side has already had its blood shed. It was shed in the attempted murder of the Louisiana politician, and the Trump supporters whom had been blooded by the Democrat Goon squads, a/l/a National Socialists Worker's Party Brown shirts. That blood will be shed is as sure as the sun rising in the east and setting in the west. The “if” train pulled out of the station during President trump's Campaign. Only the when it will begin in earnest remains to be answered. No Conservative or sane individual wants it. However, when one uses the word “sane”, Democrats and George Soros’ army of paid demonically possessed individuals are eliminated.. Our choice is simple: Will we as cowards or stand and fight as men and women for our loved ones?
