A few observations from a former bomb disposal officer...

A few observations from a former bomb disposal officer (i.e. Me):

1. Proper pipe bombs don't have wires connected to both ends. That's dumb.

2. You can find timers / remote control receivers WAY smaller than whatever that white box is. A proper timer would best be stored inside the pipe, making it fully encapsulated. That thing is just silly looking.

3. "Hoax Devices" are FAR more common than real ones. In which case, we should ask ourselves what the motives of the "bomber" are and "who benefits?" Go ahead. Think deeply and critically.

4. Bottom Line: Whoever made that wanted it to be painfully obvious to anyone and everyone that it's a "bomb."

This is nearly the same as a bundle of road flares wrapped together with an old-timey alarm clock ticking away.

Iran sounds good as any to me. Whoever it is, it was ridiculously easy to pull off.

Hey, they had to remove any fingerprints - just in case.

If it was a right winger, they would know how to make bombs that work. Anyone who played with model rockets knows how to set off things that make fire with a little electricity.

This looks like a bad photo of what a loser thinks a bomb looks like.

I get lots of political junk mail like calendars and photos in 9x12 envelopes or even larger. Often they will use old postage that can be purchased for less than face value. Those are rarely canceled.

One caveat is that those are usually sent bulk and have preprinted IM barcodes at the bottom. Those could be run through a cancelling machine but they often don't bother. They can also be run through sorters that also can cancel. These bulky packages would have to be hand canceled and that is very unlikely.

Yes, obliviously. If you don’t wipe the bits out of the clock first then they leak through the wires to the explosive. Certainly not c4, I suspects a Q-36 explosive space modulator.

“The exploding kind.”

I noticed that Brennan's name is misspelled. The sender thinks he's being clever. They think every conservative is illiterate.

I also notice that the state on the address is abbreviated. Only someone in their 50's or older uses periods on state abbreviations.

Classic old-time liberal who thinks he's fooling people.

The only thing missing on these false flag bombs is the ACME label and a picture of the Roadrunner standing in front of the CPUSA Progressive democrat label.

Yes, they are hoax bombs. But the news story (for the next two weeks) will be intimidation. That will be the main buzzword. And "Trump's fault".

Even if they catch the guy in the next week or so and it turns out to be a registered Democrat, the media will blame Trump for creating the environment for violence.

So after reading all of the comments on this thread, it appears that these are not "real" pipe bombs but fakes.

Does anybody know if there was explosive materials in these devices? Or were they so fake, they just "look" like the real thing?

Is sending a fake bomb illegal? If the bomb is not real, is it still a crime? Or is it a sick, practical joke.

My gut tells me these are all false flag acts, intended to make it look like some Republican is trying to bomb some democRATS.

I hope the investigation quickly identifies to perpetrator(s).

This is not something conservatives usually do. The MSM will be all over this, calling it violence on the Right against the poor, frail democRATS.

Those are first class stamps on the package in the photo. The post office always cancels those.
