Forget it. Just stay home, redo the house, AND rent a cabin.
It kind of looks like a clown threw up everywhere in there. I’d rather save the money, and not risk the ecoli, and rent a beach house for a few weeks and be within walking distance of a really good grocery store and a liquor store.
Oh... and I’d need Netflix...
Im sure some FReepers can agree that for that amount of money I can not only buy some land in a place like Texas, but put down money on a House on the land as well and maybe still have some money left.
You could buy a nice homestead in probably 20 states for that amount, house included or throw a double-wide on it. We live in a brand-new one and it’s all the house we need. If we had a couple of children still at home it’d still be big enough. It’s 3 bedroom, 2 bath and 1,475 square feet.
Agreed. Not very appealing for 170k. Actually, kind of gauche.
There are parking spaces for sale in Boston that cost more than $170,000.00———way more..

Been on many cruises with different lines. The day I spend that much money to stay in my room, as that is what the cost reflects, I’ll get a room in Greece and go see something rather than a couple of poorly painted walls. I don’t go for the ship. I go for the sightseeing the ship goes to. Otherwise, I can paint my house for a whole lot less and get the same thing without motion sickness those colors must bring out.

You can charter an entire yacht with crew for a week for a lot less than that.
I thought those thruster thingees kept you from getting sea sick? Love to take the wife on a cruise before we die. Are there special cruises for handicapped people?
The whole point is to show everybody that you can aford to waste $170k. It makes no sense to have all that when you’re on a cruise ship hopefully going someplace.
All modern cruise ships cater to handicapped passengers. There are cabins equipped for handicapped passengers.
Charter a midsize ship, personal service and a lot more space and privacy.
And you would probably feel like you were actually on a boat instead of a high rise hotel...
Yes, and with personalized attention.
This is hype by the press at its best. You can get that suite for a fraction of the 170K price tag they are reporting. They are using a one-time extreme example at best, or perhaps completely made up.
What hideous decor!
If I had $170,000, I’d pay off my house AND my student loans.
If you have $170k to blow on a cruise, you're not sailing Royal Caribbean with the riff raff.
Chuck E. Cheese on acid. Bad trip.
