As of July 1, 2017, the U.S. Census Bureau estimates the U.S. population to be 325,719,178.
However, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez thinks the U.S. has 500 million people.
She recently stated:
“200 million Americans make less than $20,000 a year. That’s 40% of this country.”

I certainly would not expect her or anyone else to know the exact number. If she or anyone else had said that the U.S. population was 325 million or 330 million, that would be perfectly reasonable.
But 500 million?
Well, if you count the illegals...................
She’s counting illegals in that number.
She must be counted the “undocumented”
That is splitting hairs. I don’t like her but this type of pounding over a relatively innocent mistake does not make good argument.
Is she including Mexico and Canada? What does that add up to?
Give Ocasio-Cortez a break, will ya? she’s obviously counting deceased Democrats who are still voting.
She’s not good at math - remember it’s one of the STEM sciences that males have made too difficult for women to learn? Maybe change math to feminist math, where 1 + 1 = 2 or whatever a non-White says it is.
I actually find her likable just horribly misguided and mis-educated — and I think that’s why conservatives talk more about her than even by liberal or Democrat circles LoL.

Easy on her - the Census reports don’t include the extra 7 States Obama identified. There have to be at least 25 million people in each of those 7 States - there’s your 175 million without even counting the illegals.
Her statement was a lie from start to finish.
As the most ignorant winner of a primary in history, she should be pounded every time she makes a stupid comment.
She is now the face of the Demon party and we should never let anyone forget it.
