MANILA - A book about Filipino women written by a Korean man has been removed from online book retailers after complaints that it is "obscene and racist."
According to The Korea Times, the e-book "How to Treat Bar Hostesses in the Philippines" received flak after a tweet about it spread earlier this month.
Many expressed concern about the book's content, which talks about how to deal with Filipino women from a Korean man's perspective.
The book's author, identified only as "Kevin Cho," urged his readers to "make the best use of Filipinas, who can give unforgettable memories."
"Even if you are not a womanizer in Korea, you will definitely be one in the Philippines. This is not the case only for Koreans but also Japanese and Americans. The fact that the Korean Wave is sweeping across Asia makes you feel even more proud. While studying English there, women can be either medicine or poison."
The book was published three years ago by Scene in the Moonlight.
After the issue about the book surfaced, many people in Korea complained about it with online bookstores and demanded that they stop selling it.
All major online bookstores, except Kyobo Book Centre, had removed their book from the websites as of Thursday night.

Not sure I see the problem.
I am speaking as an American in Vietnam. But this seems to be the case everywhere. Everywhere. There are some women who are wonderful, who are ready to give themselves to one and only man for life. Then there others, where things are not so simple.
I think deciding which is which is simpler in Vietnam, but maybe I am wrong. But it is the same in Korea, the same in America, the same in Japan, the same in Europe.
There are some guys who are trustworthy, there are others who will treat women like nothing. There are other guys who just want one woman. There are good and bad people, of both sexes, everywhere.
Not sure exactly what the author is saying. But is seems like he’s speaking truth.
At least from one perspective.
Chinese women are actually quite beautiful! I mean, wow. Women in their 40s and even 50s are just stunning.
And it's weird because you would think all the women in China would be taken due to the huge imbalance there of men vs women.
Vietnamese women? Not so much. They're kind of homely looking and very short. But there are some gems.

LOL - I found my wife halfway around the world. Needless to say it was a brilliant move for me, and the kids from this type of a mixed marriage are something to die for.
As to American Woman, they’re welcome to continue in their ways, thinking they’re giving us the finger...since we American men have OPTIONS.

I can relate. My wife is from China, she is the cousin of one of my best friends who introduced us. All she wants is me to be faithful and love her. We are very happy together.

I was assigned as “coach” for a new employee. He was a Filipino. Actually a nice guy. His wife was from the same village as he was.
Their Son was giving him a lot of trouble. Involved with the wrong people etc. I suggested maybe he could move back to the Philippines as he was from way out in the sticks.
He told me he wanted to and he could live like a king there on his Navy retirement. Unfortunately his wife would not agree. I asked him who was the boss in his family.
He said she had become Americanized really quickly.
when I was engaged to my wife, a filipino with an american father. Her brother said, in public filipinos will let you be the boss, at home, don’t even think about it.

Dunno about that...one of my high school classmates dated a Cambodian woman for several years, and married her a couple of years ago.
I think many Asian men and women are really good looking, but I’ve seen some incredibly homely ones, including Chinese. But, Asian women are, generally speaking, much more subservient, than American women. But don’t kid yourself; they have their ways of getting their own way, or showing their anger. They’re no pushovers.
I prefer Koreans over Chinese, there’s just something about the Chinese language that isn’t sexy. A woman speaking Korean sounds much better.

I’ve been married to my Japanese wife for 31 years and have traveled all over Asia . Top 3 in Asia IMHO are Japanese , Chinese and Korean , in that order .
I don’t see a problem with the book. I do have a problem with censorship.
