Trump base latches onto ‘Q’ internet conspiracy cult
The Seattle Times ^ | August 2, 2018 | Marc Fisher and Isaac Stanley-Becker

Energized by the internet persona Q’s complex web of conspiracy notions about the forces aligned against President Donald Trump, Q’s followers have spread virally online and now, in real life too, forming a movement known as QAnon.

From somewhere in the vast and mysterious “deep state,” a dissident agent rises up to give the people cryptic clues about how their heroic president will push back the forces of evil and make America great again. The renegade informant is known only as “Q,” and if he actually exists, it’s not as a character in a movie, but somewhere in the Washington, D.C., bureaucracy.

Energized by Q’s complex web of conspiracy notions about the forces aligned against President Donald Trump, Q’s followers have spread virally online and now, in real life too, forming a movement known as QAnon that is making itself visible at Trump’s rallies and other public gatherings.

QAnon is the latest in a string of conspiracy ideas that take hold of the public’s imagination in times of social stress and technological change. And QAnon is something new, a leaderless popular movement made up of people who believe in no one and therefore are willing to believe almost anything.

To believers, Q is a pseudonym for a well-placed U.S. government agent who is posting online distress messages and bits of intel, known as “breadcrumbs,” in an effort to save the country — and Trump — from hostile forces within the government. Q’s missives started appearing last October on 4chan, the mostly anonymous website where fringe ideas incubate and blossom....

What a bunch of BS. You just don’t want to answer my question because you don’t like the answer. The truth you can’t handle the truth.

By the way my answer comes straight from Trumps books. You night choose to enlighten yourself and read one, or you can continue to live on ignorance, hot air and bluster.

Because it entertainment. Trump has always used entertainment to misdirect and delight his fans.

So you think Trump created Q to distract and delight his fans? I just can’t take you seriously.

As for your question, first of all, we don’t know who q is, that is the point. If we don’t know who he is, how can we know if he was responsible for someone being fired. I don’t recall q ever stating that he was an investigator either. So again, how could we possibly know what indictments he has been responsible for.

Between your “misdirect and delight” theory, and another one upthread about q being Hillary. you guys have started to become exactly what you are so afraid of.... a bunch of kooks.

It obviously hasn’t ‘proven’ anything to quite a few people here.

It obviously hasn’t ‘proven’ anything to quite a few people here.

That's where the intellectually laziness comes in, SMH.

North Korea was bigly if any of them would have bothered to check. NK is very verifiable on the Q drops. There is tons of research but some Youtubers like Praying Medic have made it a little easier to understand in many of his videos.

Part of that laziness is people who are waiting for the deep state's gatekeepers, the enemedia, to verify any of this. Which will NEVER happen and in fact, this good Q movement is now being attacked by said enemedia. That should sound alarms in all conservatives understanding the gatekeepers hate it, therefore we can easily conclude it's bad for them (and the truth, it is, as the good messages to the American people go around them).

Yes, it will take some time but at least they would be informed on the subject before condemning it not knowing anything about it (other than maybe what the deep state and all their machinations tells them). The Q threads have tons of great research as well it includes links to get a better understanding of what this good movement is all about.

Those who don't Trust the Plan can at least Trust the Man, Donald J. Trump.

In the end, we may never know whether Q is legit or not.  But Trump we can depend on, because he promised us justice -- and he delivers on his promises.

if Q didn't have this habit of dropping clues that lead to real, verifiable, timely, relevant information, the Autist community would have shredded it long ago.

Absolutely right, Gato. It’s all brilliant. A few choice clues and the giftedly unstoppable go rooting through public domain, and then put what they find “out there” on the internet kiosk for all to see for themselves.

Somebody had teach US what actual factual reporting looks like and they have more than stepped up to do just that, right when we, the people, need that Truth the most. Thank you, Jesus.

Years ago I thought something similar might have happened here with obama, sorta like it had with Clinton.

I mean, virtually everything that is known about “our” pResident obama, who he is, where he was born, his family, school records and past histories, his you name it, all of it is a mixture of fact, fantasy and outright BS, mostly the latter.

Who could resist blatant mysteries like that, right? Because human nature. But nope, didn’t happen. Never got off the ground. Not even close.

But now with Q and the anons? Whatever they’re doing is brilliant on many levels. Tell you what, you can’t glow there like you can here.

Providing links and hints at relevant information is not prophecy, it is an exercise well known in developing researching skills.

Following a hint or clue to a link that reveals what was never shared by the normal means say MSM is not magic, nor is it gobbledygook.

There are very valid reasons for the communications to be conducted this way and it is your right to stick with ole trusty the MSM feed and gobble it up. If that is the path you take, so be it

I and others have chose another and the insights provided by the research is to say the least, illuminating and to the perpetrators quite damning.

So I say best of luck to you and you quest for answers, soon enough you will not need am appliance to feed yourself, the changes that are coming as more and more around the world awaken will be sufficient

Spoon feeding is for little children eating pablum, adults eat meat

It’s in the Bible

Enjoy

Only among the commoners - as with marijuana violation, illegal invasion, etc.

Sessions is an SES institutionalist: laws are for little people, not the elite.

Good Conservatives deal in, and live by, Principles.

They don’t need to put their faith in some anonymous cipher and its claim to ‘secret knowledge’, on the Internet.

Most of them are paying no attention to Q. They’re paying attention to Donald Trump, and the improvements they perceive in the economy, their paychecks, their job prospects, and the inroads being made in other areas of importance to everyday life, prosperity, security, justice.

Some people on the Internet seem to think that they are the Center Of The World, and that what they’re doing HERE is really effecting something profound.

If you enjoy ‘playing Q’, go for it. But don’t kid yourself that your influence is nearly as important and widespread as you seem to believe.

We elected Trump without any help from the ‘Q’ thing.

I dispute that using ambiguous and/or vague (which are not the same thing) code-play is the same as the Socratic Method.

A philosophical teacher employs an established, common lexicon in order to convey accurate meaning.

Doing so is not necessarily rote-teaching; it is the means, not the end. As a teacher or tutor, I often employed leading, open-ended questions; I never employed a Gnostic-style, You-Have-To-Be-Shrewd-Enough-To-Guess-What-I-Am-Really-Saying approach, which is demeaning and misleading to the student. Instead, I phrased each question carefully, in language I was confident the student would correctly apprehend.

You and others here are conflating the use of unambiguous terminology with the act of mindless indoctrination.

That is logically fallacious.

Hey, thanks for your smug, self-satisfied, condescending advice! Such a jerk you are. I’d match my degrees and diligent efforts to obtain reliable information against you any day.

Congrats on avoiding just about everything I wrote with trying to be helpful with what is going on with this Q movement. If you want to deflect, that is fine.

Much of what I wrote is verifiable if one isn’t lazy when it comes to finding out for themselves. It is making a huge difference. The biggest thing you avoided is having a channel to where info gets around the corrupt media and directly to the American people. THIS IS HUGE if we are to win back our Constitutional Republic.

I don’t know why you would want to continue to downplay such a good thing. You don’t have to believe in Q but understand, it is a good thing for the American people. Participate in it if you want or not but understand it is a good thing and much of it IS verifiable.

And just how many missives of fragmented or isolated sentences do I need to see to form an opinion of Q?

Q strikes me as something like a psychic. Psychics are very good at picking up on clues and using them to tell people things they thought no one could know. But in reality, they aren’t saying anything at all and they have no supernatural knowledge.

I’ll leave the Q games to those who enjoy such pursuits. I’ve no interest in it myself.

You reference the Bible, and lay claim to wisdom, yet your posts are largely composed of condescending ad hominem attacks.

If it is your intent to persuade, then you are failing.

Nothing shrewd in what is being employed by the members of Q, moreso a methodology of asking questions as in Who has the most to gain or other and then providing links to allow others to follow them and then ones that come from them on down, deeper into the roots of the issue

So this is not really an education exercise but one of helping people to exercise an investigative mode to come to a solution set. Not training a parrot, but helping them collect their thoughts

Pareto analysis is a methodology I have employed countless times to get to the root cause of a problem by looking at multiple points of fact that can help come to a decision point of action going ahead. Pareto analysis is a creative way of looking at causes of problems because it helps stimulate thinking and organize thoughts. However, it can be limited by its exclusion of possibly important problems which may be small initially, but which grow with time.

So what this whole activity is about is not brainwashing or thought lock, it is helping people to follow the clues and find things that are there but not known and then reach a conclusion, but it never states that this is THE desired conclusion

So the typical model in education of repetition and and recitation or “I say it and you memorize it and the correct response is when you say it back as they desire” Not all classes or exercises are conducted in this manner, but the method being employed promotes a different way of looking at facts and exploring possible links or connections

So call it what you will and throw stones, I have been in this world a long time and degrees mean nothing to me but time in a chair in school. If you have actually been on the field and used it to solve problems, then that counts more then book learning every time

There is at the end of this response no “common dialog” or Lexicon that needs to be employed or enforced as in your response. It stimulates the inquisitive side of the mind and allows for exploration into a question that in virtually all cases finds far more than you might expect, even beyond what the initiator had already found

So there is in closing no “logic” model to be had, except one of exploration, discovery and internal reflection on what it means

Maybe your idea of ‘a good thing’ is very different from mine.

And I don’t think that the American People *in general* need a ‘Q’ thing to tell them what is good. They were born with that sense and knowledge - it’s in their constitutional fiber.

If all of the people who think that they can ‘manipulate’ public opinion would just leave us alone, we’d figure things out fine all on our own.

Opinions vary as to failing

If measured as failing by you then I count that as a victory, no one set you up as the arbiter of success that I have ever seen

Ad hominen attacks, I use different responses for different people, and in general few beyond you seem to be repulsed. I am truly sorry if I mussed you hair now and again, but snarky put downs and other comments will be met in the same way.

Do unto others as you would have them do unto you

Yeah, it’s in the Bible, and if you start it I will match you. if you wish to have a dialog with facts and minus the denigrating comments you employ, lets rock

And if it is your intent to lead others astray, then the game has been set by you. Christ referred to the members of the Sanhedrin as Snakes and Vipers as they were leading the others astray, but he was just being mean right?
