Shortly after the Washington Nationals fell to the Miami Marlins 5-0 on Sunday, Nationals shortstop Trea Turner found himself in an increasingly familiar position across the MLB. Multiple old tweets of Turner’s surfaced on Twitter on Sunday afternoon that contained offensive language. The tweets in question date back to 2011 and 2012, when Turner would have been 17 or 18 years old, and at least four of them contain both racist language and homophobic slurs. Be advised that the language used in the tweets below is offensive.

With Turner, Newcomb, and Hader, they’re all from when the players were about 17. i’d bet they contain the same “racist remarks” and “homophobic slurs.” I’d bet they’re rap lyrics. But MLB will punish the players and hire the rappers they were quoting to “entertain” at a ballpark near you.

Remember the mantra: the issue is never the issue, the issue is always the revolution. Baseball hasn’t been made enough of a tool of the left. Yet.
Seems to me there is a vast moral difference between criticizing foolish positions advanced by a 17 year old who is at the center of a media campaign, and trying to ruin the career of an adult because of some tasteless things they said back when they were 17.

The NFL is almost exclusively made up of American players, so it’s the most vulnerable.

Totally agree. I was just showing the hypocrisy of liberals (including Hogg) that stated that you couldn’t criticize 17 year olds ... but liberals can attack old teenager tweets.
