Oh my! The new hope of the Democrat Party – Socialist/Communist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was in Kansas City with Bernie Sanders and posted this message on Bernie Sanders’ Twitter Account. Notice, she says they are going to help Brent Welder “flip the seat RED.”

So, either she means Republican – or perhaps, Communist? . . .

RED is Communist. The MSM successfully flipped the traditional colors for left and right in an effort to remove some of the stigma from Communist killers and tyrants. I hated it when the users of Free Republic instantly went along with the switch. It told me that the public schools banning of the teaching of history had had a tremendous effect.

Years ago blue/red election maps had the Democrats red and the Republican blue. I recall some Democrats complaining this was an inappropriate attempt to associate the Democrat brand with Communism, so it was switched (since nobody would associated the Republicans with Communism).

Maybe the young lady just thinks the Democrats shouldn't try to hide it anymore?

For a long time the networks would usually color voting maps as red-Dem, blue-Repub, or the incumbent would be blue, challenger red. It was only in 2000 that the media started trying to disassociate Dems and the color red (socialism), so they started making Repub red instead. Note the Repub official party color is blue, while I'm not sure if the Dems have an official party color or not.

It seemed to me when the networks started painting the Dems blue it was precisely to disassociate them from Communism. Until that time it was fairly common to see blue associated with the GOP. Example

Not much different from painting the NAtionalsoZIalistische German Worker's Party as "right wing" to again dissassociate it from the Dems.

I too think the contrived "red" association to the GOP should be disregarded, and returned to blue. Tim Russert was a good little soldier. Ptui.
