A NEAR DEATH EXPERIENCE: BACK FROM THE BRINK

I knew unequivocally and with no misinterpretation I was between states of being. I could continue on towards the next realm/state of being, though the feeling was one of returning, or I could go back to where I had just come, though again the feeling was more akin to returning. Both states of being or direction were vaguely familiar, though at that point nothing was known with absolute clarity, just an understanding or knowing of familiarity and comfort.

Going to call a little bit of BS on this. Cardiac muscle ( heart muscle) posses a quality called “automaticity “. The heart muscle allows a certain amount of calcium to leak into the muscle triggering a heart beat. The ventricle will beat at about 40/ min, the AV junction around 60/ min and the pacemaker around 70/ min.when some ne dies they often enter into an what is called “an agonal “ rhythm. It is the ventrical escape beats. Slowly decreasing as profusion slows and the heart can beat no more. It may be possible to control but probably not very easily done.

This kind of reads like one of those Internet videos about some “miracle” cure or diet.

He takes a LONG time to get to the point. Painfully slow.

I’ve read many of Cognitive Dissonance’s post for years
This one touched upon similar experiences I’ve had

Yes it is long, but he’s building a story worth hearing

You sound like one who does not believe in the soul or the afterlife. I have also had experiences where I learned so very clearly that there is an afterlife and the entities "over there" can communicate with you.

There is a strong dividing line between the animal part of a person and his soul.

I have had a near death experience. Doctors were amazed that I lived, and yet, here I am. I was in a coma for 2 months after the close call and have recovered totally since then. That was 5 years ago. I remember standing on the line between two worlds and was asked by God if I wanted to go with Him or stay in this world and finish my mission. I chose to stay, although the trail back was very hard. The interesting thing to me was that there were never any spoken words - the meanings were transmitted into my consciousness as one thought, not individual words. Since that time, I have come to understand that we all have our individual missions until the day we die. My story is one that happens every day. Sometimes God has to let us go to the last choice before we can accept our shortcomings and realize that we are always one breath away from leaving this world and moving on to the next one. Now, the most important choice I make is whether I will serve God today or will I serve myself. Sometimes I make the wrong choice, but the older I get, I make better choices by the Grace of God. I now realize that God is always on that line beteen two worlds and encourages us to make the right decisions. He always listens to us, but do we always listen to him?

It was an interesting article. It reminded me of discussions that I participated in college in the 1970s in a class that I signed up for called “Creating your own personal philosophy”. The professor told us in class that expanding your mind was a legitimate use of illegal drugs. I dropped the class after a couple of weeks because it seemed like a waste of time and money.

My wife who is a retired professional nurse had a near death experience while she was giving birth to one of our kids. She had prenatal care but this was before ultra-sound etc. and the doctor never figured out that she was carrying twins. One of the twins blocked the birth canal and she was in labor for over 12 hours. My wife finally got up and started putting her clothes on and said that she was going to go home to die.

The staff then finally sent her to x-ray to figure out what was going on. From there they rushed her into emergency surgery. She started hemorrhaging after the cesarean was botched.

It was a huge mess. She basically bled out and her heart stopped on the operating table, they panicked and gave her the wrong blood type. After my wife was in recovery we were told that her chances of making it were very, very slim. It was many hours before she regained any type of consciousness; she developed a terrible fever as her body rejected the incorrect blood type and they packed her in ice.

While she was unconscious she had an out of body experience where she was watching all of this activity. When she fully regained consciousness she remembered all that had been going on. The staff and doctors had told a conflicting tale where their heroic actions had saved her. Everything that she remembered was eventually confirmed; they assumed an insider was feeding her info.

The hospital and doctor were not sued. My wife was transferred to a more capable hospital. We received no medical bills from either hospital or the doctors after the three ring circus of incompetence nearly ended her life and left one baby dead.

This isn’t an article, it’s a mini-novel. What I take away from it is this guy is lucky to be alive. I’ve never heard of anyone having so many horrific experiences outside of war.

This is exactly the same as my wife describes her experience though she describes the entity that communicated with her as an angel and not God.

Something about this piece doesn’t add up... comes across more like a Rorschach test...

Angels are here as our helpers and guides of a sort, many NDE’s have a conversation with Jesus but in my view it depends on where on the path you are. Some NDE’s are reported by those not on the path to salvation where they are shown where they are headed if they do not change course. It is never in any I have seen viewed in punitive sense, more of a loving attempt to help them change course. God does not want to punish anyone, but with free will each must choose the path they follow.

End of the day... Choose, while you still can

Well, he tells us how he had his first “true” NDE when he was a boy suffering from leaf suffocation, but never goes back to the original NDE, which I actually wanted to hear, not the LSD-laced heart-stopping prowess, for example.

Long and INCOHERENT.

I did not see a physical presence - I could not recognize anything within my experience. It is hard to describe, but it was more like our consciousnesses were streaming together, as one. To describe it as a being that was recognizable would not be accurate. It was more like “I knew” than I saw, or “I perceived “ than I heard. From my perception, it was not a physical prescence of an Angel or God Himself as a physical being - but I knew that He and I were one together in that moment. Does that make sense? I can not offer any physical description as it was like nothing I had ever experienced on this earth.

It’s one of those things that
If you’ve seen it, you know it
If you’ve not seen it, no one can tell you

Yeah, that was unnecessary
It got better again toward the end

I’ve met 23 people who have had well defined NDE, all of them came back with potent stories, two things are always true

They are more at peace with themselves
They are NEVER afraid of dying again

So true. St Paul describes it as being “taken” to the Third Heaven, but he can’t “speak” about it. That’s because there are no words that can speak it. I’ve had that “out of body” experience and can’t speak of it with words. No drugs involved.
