I have had a near death experience. Doctors were amazed that I lived, and yet, here I am. I was in a coma for 2 months after the close call and have recovered totally since then. That was 5 years ago. I remember standing on the line between two worlds and was asked by God if I wanted to go with Him or stay in this world and finish my mission. I chose to stay, although the trail back was very hard. The interesting thing to me was that there were never any spoken words - the meanings were transmitted into my consciousness as one thought, not individual words. Since that time, I have come to understand that we all have our individual missions until the day we die. My story is one that happens every day. Sometimes God has to let us go to the last choice before we can accept our shortcomings and realize that we are always one breath away from leaving this world and moving on to the next one. Now, the most important choice I make is whether I will serve God today or will I serve myself. Sometimes I make the wrong choice, but the older I get, I make better choices by the Grace of God. I now realize that God is always on that line beteen two worlds and encourages us to make the right decisions. He always listens to us, but do we always listen to him?
This is exactly the same as my wife describes her experience though she describes the entity that communicated with her as an angel and not God.
...but do we always listen to him?
Not too well, but He is persistent
Dead to sin and dead to this world comes to mind
