It is the ventrical escape beats. Slowly decreasing as profusion slows and the heart can beat no more. It may be possible to control but probably not very easily done.

You sound like one who does not believe in the soul or the afterlife. I have also had experiences where I learned so very clearly that there is an afterlife and the entities "over there" can communicate with you.
