As long as he didn’t bring any into the country.

“One more thing to dumb down the populace.”

That’s a lovely non-sequitur.

Take Colorado for example. The last few weeks there was a fire there that wiped out 103000 acres called the spring fire because it was started on spring rd. We used to have a house near there and sold it last year because of the type of people that were moving in there after the state voted in the marijuana laws. The guy who started this fire was an illegal from Denmark he was living out of a camper and had no water. He called himself a minerals prospector. His Facebook profile show him smoking a bong. I really lay this at the feet of the governor Hickenlooper who opened up this state to these get rich quick by growing weed losers. Now that it’s legal there’s an underground operation going on to avoid taxes. I see no value in legalizing this at all other than to feed the losers.

Oh, what the hell, go for it.

You're screwing up everything else, what difference is it going to make?

Drugs should only be legalized where there is no government charity.

Only according to the ignorant & the willfully ignorant.

In January 2015 I weighed, 289lbs & suffered from crippling depression/anxiety/insomnia. I was on multiple medications & was only getting worse. I began using cannabis in 2015 in a desperate attempt to get a handle things because the pharma meds were not working.

By the end of 2015 I was off all the anti-depressants & atypical-antipsychotic meds.
By the end of 2016 I was off the benzo’s I had been prescribed for 8 years
By the end of 2017 I was off the insomnia meds.
Yesterday morning when I weighed in I was at 194lbs.

I now walk 25-40 miles a week weather permitting. I’ve never been happier or healthier.

So as I said previously, what a lovely non-sequitur.

In what form did you take it ? Because you’re making a medical argument that it “worked” for you, you’re trying to apply that across the board, and that doesn’t cut it. In most instances, people take it simply because they’re selfish, stupid and want to get high. Outside of medically justifiable reasons, no one needs it.

Abuse of narcotics for “recreation” is inexcusable and is a premier example of a debauched culture. In this era of Trump, that decay needs to be halted and we need to raise the bar of cultural and societal standards again that have eroded over more than a half-century. To put it simply, I support upping our standards. Up yours.

It’s my experience that authoritarian prohibitions are prone to present their arguments wrapped in fallacy as you have here.

My only assertion is that you posted a non-sequitur. I proved that in my reply, sharing my own personal, very positive experience using cannabis. I made no other assertions regarding society.

It’s also my belief that authoritarian prohibitions are no different than Anti-America progressives. Both are woefully dishonest, IMO.

Prohibitions should be prohibitionist(s). Spellcheck is not always friendly. 😀

That “authoritarian prohibition” can be applied to any and all laws, and you can apply the same argument to do away with them, since people will break them/do them anyway.

I can provide you with a horror story to counter your personal experience on how m/j is a gateway drug and what it can lead to, but I’ll spare that for now, since I find it sickening and demeaning to the participants of what occurred.

I and others believe in basic bedrock cultural standards. We either have them or we don’t, and when they are removed in the name of “personal freedom”, we become that much more lesser as a people and nation.

The drug issue often leads people to compare it to alcohol prohibition of a century ago. Curiously, many don’t ask WHY there was prohibition in the first place. They think of the stereotype of old hatchet-faced women busybodies trying to take the “fun” out of life. Far from it.

Alcoholism was rampant in this country by the late 19th and early 20th century and was the singlemost destructive force in ripping apart families. Activists took the route that the only way to deal with this destructive force was to remove it from American society. Enough people supported this movement that it was enacted into law. Although it had the unfortunate side-effect of organized crime getting into the game, it did have the beneficial effect of reducing the rate of alcohol use and abuse. Even after prohibition was abolished, the problems it was responsible for a generation earlier had arguably helped curb this epidemic. Had prohibition never happened, it’s quite likely the problem might never have abated.

But again, this goes back to cultural standards and the kind of society we want to live in. Destigmatizing narcotics usage will only lead to an explosion of the problem. If you can argue m/j should be legal, you can do the same with any narcotic that a citizen desires for “recreational” usage. Why should one and not the other ? Now that SCOTUS said “gay marriage” is A-OK (without the input of the public or voters who consistently opposed it), they’ve essentially made it so that any person in any relationship can demand said right, polygamists, group marriages, and other bizarre institutions. These things don’t uplift us, they tear us down. But some will argue this is “freedom.” I do not. Without God-given basic societal standards, what do we have ?

I think I’ll stick with liberty & the Constitution, thanks.

There are ways for humans to abuse anything & everything. Cannabis is no different in this regard than sugar or caffeine is, in my experience.

I thank Our Heavenly Father every day for giving us the cannabis plant & for regaining the ability to experience joy & happiness again by using it medicinally. Genesis 1:29 has a special place in my heart.

Still, it always cracks me up how my recovery from mental illness story never warrants a “Hey, good for you!” from authoritarian prohibitionists when I tell them cannabis is the medicine that made it happen. :)

We should execute anyone that sells even a milligram of drugs. Using illegal drugs should permanently bar you from healthcare coverage. We should bomb kill and destroy drug cartels like we fought ww2.

Ahh... The salty tears of loser drug warriors taste so sweet!

The same argument could be made for legalizing all narcotics.

Yes it could - but prudence dictates we start with the most popular and least harmful illegal drug (even less harmful by many measures than the already legal drug alcohol).

Death by Vomiting is OK?

Death is rarely if ever the result of hyperemesis - and the evidence linking hyperemesis and marijuana is still far from conlcusive.

Cannabis to Meth, Meth to Bath Salts or worse.

Very few cannabis users go on to harder drugs.

If Cannabinoid Hyperemesis syndrome doesn’t get you; vomiting for Life

Hyperemesis is not a lifelong condition.
