LOS ANGELES A coalition of religious leaders and black pastors in Los Angeles will hold a press conference at 3 p.m. on Monday, July 2, 2018 in front of the office of Congresswoman Maxine Waters (D-CA), located at 10124 South Broadway in Los Angeles. The coalition (Pastors in Soladarity) is being organized by Pastor Shane B. Scott, who is a senior pastor at the Macedonia Baptist Church.
At the press conference, the pastors will show support for Congresswoman Waters, who has received criticism from the White House as well as death threats for her call to publically confront White House staffers for the way the Trump Administration is treating and separating immigrant families.
The pastors feel the words and intensions of the congresswoman have been mischaracterized and taken out of context because she is a black woman who is passionately imploring people with a conscience to confront Trump supporters about the administrations anti-immigrant agenda.
The harsh rhetoric from the White House and the double standard of Congresswoman Waters are seen as racist, and a weapon of words used to energize Trump supporters for the mid-term elections.
STATEMENT BY PASTOR SHANE B. SCOTT ON BEHALF OF RELIGIOUS LEADERS: As we prepare to celebrate the Fourth of July, our democracy is under attack and were on the verge of a constitutional crisis under the Trump Administration. This administration has created an atmosphere of divisiveness to satisfy the base, and not represent all people in the United States of America. Immigrant children have been separated from their families at the borders. Trumps travel ban is rooted in anti-Muslim prejudices, which discriminates against religious freedoms and lawmakers ignore implementing reasonable gun laws to stop mass shootings in our most sacred public places. This is not who America is suppose to be. We are better than this. Congresswoman Maxine Waters is courageously raising her voice and leading the fight in the Democratic Party to maintain the moral fiber of this country. She is a true patriot, and she should be celebrated as such. She has been an exemplary public servant for all the people, and any attempts to disrespect, discredit or assassinate her character are unwelcomed and unwarranted. Pastor Shane B. Scott
This weekend, more than 750 cities across the nation are participating in Families Belong Together marches and rallies in response to the Trump Administrations zero tolerance immigration policy, separating migrant families. Approximately 2,300 migrant children have been separated from their parents and secretly shipped to detention centers throughout the country. And making headlines this week, the Supreme Court validates Trumps travel ban, and a deadly shooting at a Maryland newspaper left five people dead.
For this reason, Congresswoman Waters is a vocal opponent of Trump and his discriminatory policies against people of color and anyone non-white. In her fight for whats right, regardless of party lines, Congresswoman Waters has elected to put polite discourse aside to fight for Democracy. Anyone who believes in our democracy must do the same, added Pastor Scott.
Sharing the podium with Pastor Scott during the press conference will be Pastor Kelvin Sauls of Holman United Methodist Church and Rev. John Cager III of Ward AME Church.

The entire farce is a set up to garner sympathy for the low IQ Maxipad. Hope she lives many years more, since she is the best weapon the republicants have exposing the luny left nature of the demoncrat party. Between Pelicanosi and Maxipad Waters how can we lose?
ROTFL. “Religious leaders” from the Sharpton and Jackson mold? Funny stuff.
Racism is a religion to many.
Hilarious..........
May her wig go flying off one day she is media grandstanding.....
But then again it is Kalifornia and I hear they have funky stuff in the drinking water.
I couldn’t get the poster for the event to materialize here. Go take a look.
I thought the zero tolerance policy had ended.
We have Maxine Waters on video calling for people to harass and intimidate Trump administration members. We have Maxine Waters’ claims that she has received death threats - threats that were apparently not made publicly, so we’ll have to take her word for it. Sorry, I’m more worried about her actual incitements to public intimidation and possible violence than I am about supposed death threats.
“May her wig go flying off one day she is media grandstanding.....”
It’s probably held on with self-tapping sheet metal screws,
Prove it Max...without the left wing
media who hang on your every word.
So bitter and filled with hatred.
Antiquated politics. She’s still
thinking its 1967 or something.
Farce. She brings, begs trouble on herself and then gets rallies, applause? Bullsheet!
Re EUR WEB and writer Fisher Jack.
Pastor Scott sounds like a dumb puppet of Waters. His speech is nothing but a repuking up of the Democrat Party talking points aimed at ignorant LA blacks and Hispanics.
Not an original thought in it. Shane should be known as “The Puppet Pastor”.
No wonder the black family continues to disintegrate under the politically nutjob leadership of the once family-friendly black church. I know that Chicago has the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Lous Farrakhan, Father Pfleger, and The Rev. Jesse Jackson but LA seems to want to have their ignorant clones in the pulpit instead of realist clergy who should be looking out for their flock instead of offering them up as some lunch for society’s predators from gangs to drugs to political hacks to no family unity.
I once met a black woman pastor from Bluefields, Nicaragua whose Lutheran Church/members were under attack by the Nicaraguan communist Sandinistas. She came to America for help in protecting her flock, not offering them as a sacrifice to some bullshit politically and socially “CORRECT” hackneyed Democrat Party propaganda.
Now the reds rule Nicaragua and the pastors who supported the Communists are silent, choosing instead to blame everything on Pres. Trump instead of looking at their own past actions and what is going on in their own backyards that they aren’t doing much about except taking Democrat money to keep the people down on the political plantation of fake hope and false dreams.
Maxine and her ilk want to make America Olduvai Gorge again.
[Racism is a religion to many.]
Unfortunately, that’s quite correct.
Hence, the urban worship of Obama.
I’ve seen it first-hand. It’s shocking.
Lotta ig’nant mofos out there.
Shes a foolish old woman with a big, arrogant mouth and not worthy of the position she holds. Shes perfect for her moron voters and dumb supporters.
encouraging people to attack the prez is Christian?....
