I am currently suing Jeff Bezos and Amazon. because they really do have, without a doubt, the worst customer service on all known planets. A culture of lying among a confederacy of dunces.
I made the mistake of buying 6-100 dollar amazon gift cards to give out as presents. alas they were stolen out of my car. So I quickly contacted Amazon so the could cancel the gift cards so the thieves wouldn't have time to use them.
What did I get from Amazon's customer service? It was like we were all back in the cold war and I was trying to get information out of Russian agents. Did they help? No. I was treated like the enemy.
They said they'd fix the problem but thwey'd need to see my receipts. Reasonable. So I sent them the receipts. I sent them by email at least 4 times, I faxed them, I ven snail mailed thwem. Nothing. They claimed they never got them. (But I have the receipts of all of these incidentws showing theat they indeed did go through.) I tried to explain to them that time was of the essence but I don't know if they know wat that meant.
So after blatant foot-dragging? incompetence? about a week passed. Then they said they finally got them but would need the 16 digits on the card. That sounded reasonable as well. But this was another lie. The 16 digit card numbers were right there on the receipts right under the bar code. They didn't know that?
Then they suggested I go to the CVS store that sold them to me and try to get them to do something. But th is is utter nonsense. CVS only sells them they don't cancel them. Simply ridiculous.
So let's review Jeff Bezos' crown jewel Amazon, lies about receiving the cards (they were sent at least six times) then they say they don't have the numbers (which are printed right there on the receipts. Then trying to shirk any involvement they send me on a wild goose chase to the store where I bought them.
All you get from this customer service is a lies, ineptitude. They give you platitudes, Like "we snowshoe you feel and we want to help.. It was like they were reading their response from cards in front of them. Total airheads, children.
I have never seen a business so inherently empty-headed and untruthful.
Actually there really isn't any customer service here. They just hire airheads to spout platitudes off of pre-written cards. These are my experiences and opinions, what are yours?
Amazon and Jeff Bezos; utter disgraces to the business world. Pass it on. Maybe it will go viral.
The amazon delivery guys have gps tracking on the website.
I watched the delivery guy driving around my neighborhood and as his little red dot started to go down my street on the map i got up walked outside and greeted the guy as he pulled into my driveway.
I though THAT was really cool.
Go get 6 100 dollar bills, write down the serial numbers and then put them in your car. When you see they are missing just call the Treasury Department and tell them you want the bills replaced./s
Amazon has one of the best Customer Service departments that I have ever dealt with. Even when not their fault they help.
Believe it or not, I find that Amazon’s shipping is the worst.
Their marketplace is also more full of scammers, frauds and knock-offs than Ebay.
And there is not a single genuine wristwatch on ebay right now.
Been an amazon customer for years. Returned a bunch of stuff. They have always exceeded my expectations.
Sorry for your problem. But suing? A well written letter would have been more effective. You must have a ton of time on your hands.
Amazon can. It should be as easy as cancelling a credit/debit card. The clearance system does recognize them as debit cards.
Yeah, that same-day delivery bothers me too.
I ordered a bluetooth speaker and a mp3 player last week at 7:30am and it was at my front door at 2:30pm.
yea that really sucked....
Spot on. Also never EVER keep ANYTHING in your car you are not prepared to lose.
“Stolen” gift cards are a popular scam. They’re going to be more on guard for that. Amazon’s always been good to me. Had a package with about a dozen things get horribly abused by UPS, about 1/3 of the items missing, half the rest damaged. I e-mailed Amazon prepared to go through the lost and damaged list, they said don’t worry about it and resent the whole thing. Free Christmas presents.
One of my monitors died friday morning....friday evening a replacement was on my porch
I personally like livimg in the future and not burning hours shopping for stuff i need right away
May I suggest another retail website? I would boycott them but I never use them. Sometimes I go on the website for price comparison but never buy anything.
I refuse to fund the LEFT. They will take your money and buy the rope to hang you with.
The LEFT are at war with you. If you dont fight back, we all lose.
In that time, I've had to return one item because it didn't fit me properly and request a replacement power supply for an Amazon Echo device, as the power supply died.
Both times, customer service was top notch. In the case of the power supply specifically, I was curious to know if Amazon wanted the entire Echo device back, or would want the power supply only back. They wanted neither. I was given a credit to order a new power supply on Amazon, applied the credit to the cost of the order, and the power supply arrived NEXT DAY via drone to my doorstep.
Amazing service. In the case of the power supply, I was on the phone for less than five minutes with Amazon arranging the replacement. No way I can get that kind of service anywhere else. I NEVER want to go to a physical customer service counter ever again, Amazon's service has been that good.
Heh. Good luck with that.
I refuse to fund the LEFT.
Umm, you're funding them now.
Who's your cable, DSL, or satellite provider that provides your internet service?
I LOVE Amazon. I don't care if the CEO was Stalin.
On Fri. my wife and I decided to go camping over the weekend. We also wanted to take our kayaks but did not have a car rack for them. I got on Amazon and found what I needed. I am Amazon Prime. A note said that if I ordered in the next 42 minutes, the car rack would be at our house by 6:00 PM that same Friday. I thought “Oh, sure.” It was at our house by 4:45 PM. Had a great weekend.
I LOVE not having to leave my house!
(Not that I'm a hermit or anything ...)
That reminds me of the time I had ordered some cheese and other items, and the box was damaged in shipping. They called me and offered to replace the box and everything in it, which had not been delivered yet. I asked if all the items were presentthey wereso I told them I would accept the box.
I had forgotten all about that. It happened about 20 years ago.
You’ll get your money back. When the legal department gets to review your case against them, the’ll apologize profusely and return your money.
As for the customer service ... many many online services only have web based customer service, sometimes with chats, sometimes, via email or sometimes you can’t find either. It’s rare to find an actually telephone number to call up and get help.
Amazon has a phone number and have been quite helpful with me in the past, but we’re not talking money problems, just product problems (shipped broken items) and digital service problems.
I had a problem with a 3rd party digital service from Amazon. I cancelled the service but they went on billing me for 4 months. During that 4 months Amazon said they can’t cancel it, the provider would have to tell them that they’ve canceled the service.
>> How about the other items that were stolen from your car? <<
Beautiful question! Thanks!
It is great.
Not only is the convenience awesome you have time to read both professional and user reviews before you hit the buy button.
Takes a lot of willpower not to go on a amazon shopping spree.
So far i’ve been good...
