Mark Levin calling Trump's trade and economic advisers "idiots" in the first hour. Then he drones on and on about how having a trade deficit is supposed to be good for consumers and belittling other conservative talk radio hosts as "It depends" rather than discussing free markets. Does he not know that this is a negotiation tactic of Trump and the goal here is to make trade policies better for everyone involved? Of course he doesn't, because at heart he's a Never Trumper who is secretly hoping Trump fails so that some massive conservative movement will rise up and elect the same Republicans again who got us into this mess along with the Rats.
No mention of the fact of Canada's tariff's on our dairy products or how America has been taken advantage of for over three decades.
I deleted him from my Sirius XM app and will give his books away to Goodwill tomorrow.
What did I lie about? All I said is, We're not free-traders either. We charge tariffs too, and some of those are also pretty steep.
Where is the lie in that?
It’s teh same principle in microcosm.
We have one of the lowest effective tariff rates in the world. to characterize it any other way is misleading to put it mildly.
You should have learned your lesson 2 years ago when Levin proved to be a never Trumper. He is been in my dog house ever since. I won’t listen to the fool. Hannity has him on all the time, and that is fine that he knows his law, but it comes to nothing.
I won’t listen to the never Trump scum. He showed his true colors in 2016. To hell with Levin, the never Trump jackwipe.
Welcome to the club. Better late than never.
What are you talking about? Tariffs between states are unconstitutional. The world is not like the USA AT ALL.
If you give your books to Goodwil, someone else will read them....perhaps the recycling bin instead?
Before you respond to people's posts, you need to read them -- and read them carefully -- especially before you accuse someone of lying!
Since you refuse to read my post for its content, I will reiterate: I never said that we do not have the lowest effective tariff rates in the world. In fact, I made no reference at all to our effective tariff rates.
One more time, since you are uncharacteristically obtuse tonight, I said:
1) We are not free-traders either (i.e., we impose tariffs too), and
2) Some of our tariffs are pretty steep also.
That is all I said in my post, and there is nothing dishonest there.
If you insist that I am a liar, that my point 1 or 2 is incorrect, then present the evidence, or shove off! I have not lied about a thing.
Ok, you are not liar but the fact that we tariff some things is irrelevant the overall discussion. The USA is being used and has one of the lowest effective tariff rates in the world.
ROFL. Dude, I don't CARE if people hate Sessions. I have my own theories but he's not my hill to die on, OK? If Trump fires him, I'd be 100% behind Trump. After all, Sessions do work for him. You know that, right?
Like Victor Davis Hanson has pointed out many times, people like Levin are never going to have their jobs outsourced to Vietmam or Malaysia. They are never impacted by the ramifications of the policies they espouse.
Yes, we are being used in many cases. In others, we are self-inflicting damage.
One of my peeves: the US sugar lobby is one of the most powerful in DC. The USA could be awash in cheap sugar from Brazil, for example. Instead, sugar tariffs make it so many domestic manufacturers opt for corn syrup as a sweetener.
Corn syrup is a scourge upon this nation! It is poison to the body! It is a serious health policy issue that is being completely ignored because a powerful lobby has bought off Congress and instituted a "pro-American" tariff. I don't want corn syrup in my food!
And, there is also the aesthetic issue -- anyone who has tasted Coca-Cola manufactured in Mexico with real sugar versus the corn-syrup Coca-Cola made here, never goes back.
So what. The Fed gov was almost exclusively funded by tariffs for over 100 years. Free trade is a myth.
Is it? We've had unrestricted trade among the United States for over 200 years.
Would we as a country be better off, or worse off, if we had tariffs, quotas, and trade wars among the states?
Midwestern states wouldn't be as efficient (cost effective) as Florida at producing oranges. But, hey, put a high enough tariff on Florida oranges, and you've got orange production in Wisconsin! (Would that be good or bad?)
One very simple example, but I hope you get the idea: the USA is the most prosperous country in history because of free trade among our states.
The benefits of free trade are no myth. But implicit in free trade is "fair trade" -- a level playing field. Otherwise, the gains from specialization (Florida more cost efficient at orange production than Wisconsin) all go out the window.
Some of you are as bad as the left, looking out daily for something to offend you and getting your noses out of joint if anyone disagrees with even one position you support, especially if it happens also to be President Trump’s position.
No two people agree on everything. On the whole, the president has done a good job. That doesn’t mean he can’t be criticized. It doesn’t mean he’s right on everything.
People who support Trump blindly are about as bad as those who supported Obama blindly.
Levin is a fake ‘conservative’ attention whore... Nobody in their ‘right’ mind pays any attention to his unbalanced rages.
I like how he convinced everyone John Roberts was a solid conservative. Mark is a pimp. A churlish annoying little man
Yep,Showed me that he was and is controlled.
undestood.
i do find much of Levin’s analyses and commentary to be very constructive and intelligent (and you can’t that about very many radio or tv hosts these days, ha!)
but when he jumps the shark, he doeth it royally ...
and I actually turned him off for a few months before finally drifting back part-time.
I turn him on and if he’s doing a good job on a good topic, I stay tuned. And on some days he can still do it ....
but if he’s shark jumping or off on something uninteresting i turn it off
Once a NeverTrumper, always a NeverTrumper -- it was only a matter of time before Levin's opportunistic, qualified support for President Trump interfered with Levin's agenda, or perhaps his social calendar. Thanks Extremely Extreme Extremist.
I have never heard him admit that tariffs were a plank in the RNC platform before the Trotskyists (Neocons) usurped the party.
