Mark Levin calling Trump's trade and economic advisers "idiots" in the first hour. Then he drones on and on about how having a trade deficit is supposed to be good for consumers and belittling other conservative talk radio hosts as "It depends" rather than discussing free markets. Does he not know that this is a negotiation tactic of Trump and the goal here is to make trade policies better for everyone involved? Of course he doesn't, because at heart he's a Never Trumper who is secretly hoping Trump fails so that some massive conservative movement will rise up and elect the same Republicans again who got us into this mess along with the Rats.
No mention of the fact of Canada's tariff's on our dairy products or how America has been taken advantage of for over three decades.
I deleted him from my Sirius XM app and will give his books away to Goodwill tomorrow.
Also he sarcastically said “Nothing is getting done” when talking about the upcoming Summit.
I guess the fact that Levin called out your pal Sessions for his cowardly failure to manage the Deep Staters in DOJ has nothing to do with your attitude towards Levin?
We paid $817 billion dollars in tariffs to other countries. China charges 100% tariff on our cars, Canada with their tariff on our dairy products is out of sight, and the list goes on.
Agreed!
But this is preaching to the choir. I think most everyone here agrees with you!
Tell him!
Where did I mention Sessions in my post? I am talking about Mark’s ridiculous ranting on Trump’s trade policies.
Not nor have ever been a fan of Levin, but my gut instinct is doubt your assertion that he hope Trump will fail. Take that with a grain of salt because I seldom listen to Levin. I bought one of his books but too many CAPS made it intolerable to me.
The dude wants to shout no matter the format in which he is engaging...
EEE its great to agree with you. I turned him off after 10 minutes of it. I dont understand how Levin is right on on many issues but a blabbering idiot on others.
I like Levin on many issues... but he openly advocated, supported a patently ineligible candidate for POTUS (putting his perception of the man’s ‘conservative values’.. which did appear to be pretty genuine.... ahead of the US Constitution Levin likes to tell us he loves so much)
I understood why he did that, but it did not display the integrity I thought he had
and so... I listen to him very selectively...since
You’re late but welcome to the party.
I like Ted Cruz and am sure his heart is in the right place but as a presidential candidate he is a non starter period. UNELECTABLE no matter how hard people wish otherwise.
congratulations!
with media, teachers and the like I have learned we learn, grow then move along to others we can learn from, not be frustrated by sticking with one we have outgrown.
I forget. Was he a Cruz guy?
that is my recollection yes
Yes he was, and a rabid one at that. Literally foaming at the mouth, cannot drink water rabid.
People will have differing views on trade tactics. Levin has an independent streak which I welcome. My complaint with Levin is not issue-based. He belittles and screams at callers. Thus I find his show to be unlistenable.
Levin is obsessed with tariffs. I don’t listen regularly anymore. He was a big GWB fan.
i think Ted Cruz has a great deal to offer ... just not as POTUS
he is in a good position now to do USA a lot of good
would be fine with me, I’d sorta like to see what he could do in the senate majority job
It's an analogy folks.
My guess is that Levin, like many fence sitters, is nervous and fearful. Fence sitters are nervous that Trump will fail at negotiations and a trade war will ensue, which they believe (probably correctly) will torpedo the economy and Trump and Republicans.
They are not nervous and fearful of de-regulation. They are not nervous and fearful at tax cuts. Those are traditional gospel. But Trump’s statements on trade are heresy. And conservatives like Levin, and most on talk radio, and in Congress, have no concept of strategy and tactics other than get big donations and buy ads at election time.
They have no concept that people actually vote on reality and not on TV ads.
