On Monday, the NFL announced a new national anthem policy that allows players to stay in the locker room but leaves open the possibility of fines for players who choose not to stand during the anthem. Former Patriots defensive end Chris Long said the new rules reflect the owners fear of their bottom line, as well as President Donald Trump, not concerns about patriotism.
Dont get it confused, Long wrote on Twitter. These owners dont love America more than the players demonstrating and taking real action to improve it.
The NFL is a multibillion dollar business that caters to people who are mostly pro-American, pro-military, pro-Trump, and it would look like the owners finally remembered this.
Former Patriot player. Bye bye.
A stadium full of your fellow citizens says otherwise.

**** you Chris Long.
These owners dont love America more than the players demonstrating and taking real action to improve it.
Chris Long...If you want to know what defines “patriotism” in the NFL, give respect to Pat Tillman...He defined patriotism...Not you...
Yeah, isn’t it ironic that the NFL Patriots aren’t really patriots?
Chris Long...If you want to know what is “honor” in the NFL, then emulate what JJ Watt is doing...JJ Watt is showing honor, not you....
You’re right Chris. It’s not Patriotism.....it’a Capitalism.
The guy with the gold makes the rules. Don’t like it? Don’t play.
I think there are ironies here. Namely, that the liberals who support players taking a knee tend not to be football fans in the first place.
So it’s not as if they will get a bunch of new fans in support of taking a knee, to replace those who tune out..
I wonder how season ticket sales renewals are going this off season.
I can’t wait to hear excuses as to why viewership and attendance are down if they are lower again this year.
The excuses from the past were crazy, such as:
The sunny side of the 49ers stadium gets so hot, that nobody wants to sit there.
The attendance dropped over Thanksgiving weekend because so many people were Christmas shopping or traveling.
Attendance dropped in the last few weeks because so many teams were out of playoff contention.
There were a lot of rainy days or cold weather last fall, keeping crowds down.
Some games were rescheduled, and people didn’t know what time or channel the game was on.
The reasons for the drops were anything besides public anger at the players protests. In there morning and, it had to be anything besides the players behavior driving fans away.
Long was a Patriot for one season. He’s now a Philadelphia Eagles player.
>>A stadium full of your fellow citizens says otherwise.<<
A 1/2 empty stadium even more so.
He can always get a real job being useless.

Last season it was kneeling.
This season it is kneeling and $100 million to SJW groups.
I think the NFL is still digging. It may turn out to be their own grave.
“Former Patriots defensive end Chris Long”
Former?
How about current Philadelphia Eagles player?
Guess “Patriot” sounded better...
LOL — your underlying point was there — a stadium full of people BOYCOTTING says volumes :)
Die NFL, die.
