Senator McCain should express nothing but gratitude that Sarah Palin accepted his offer to be his running mate.
In his new book, The Restless Wave, and in an upcoming HBO documentary, U.S. Senator John McCain (R-AZ) expresses regret about choosing former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin as his vice presidential running mate in the 2008 election. According to The New York Times, in the documentary, McCain refers to the Palin selection as another mistake he made in a long political career.
In his new book, McCain reportedly claims that former Connecticut Senator Joe Lieberman, a Democrat, would have been a better choice for the ticket. McCain noted that his advisers convinced him not to choose the Democrat, so he picked the relatively unknown Alaska Governor.
knowing songbirds ego, he’s probably quickly found out that Palin was outshining him during the campaign and is balking at that...just like his hate for Trump stems from Trump disclaiming his status as a “hero”.
The only thing McCain had going for him was the history and accomplishments of his father and grandfather. His personal achievements are nothing to brag about nor is his record as a U.S. Naval officer. He lost that election all by himself and the media.
She’s the only reason I voted for him.
McCain lost that election, he was a quitter! He must folded at the end. Like he thought his apponent was more fit for the job. HE QUIT!
In my seven presidential elections, Trump was the first time I voted FOR a candidate. Palin just helped me vote less against McCain than Obama.
The only political rally I’ve ever been to was Sarah and Todd Palin.
Palin almost messed up the plan for the Kenyanesian Usurpation.
McCain was a willing Designated Loser.
I voted FOR Reagan and FOR Trump. Ive been voting since 72
I voted for McLame BECAUSE Sarah Palin was on the ticket! I was going to sit that one out, because to me there was no difference between Juan or Barry.
I didn’t vote for McCain, but for Sarah...
I tend to agree. She would have established a record in Alaska as Governor, and run in the primary against Begich in the 2014 primary....beating him. And she’d be sitting in a fairly strong position today.
She was what brought him a good 60% of his votes. People voted for Palin, not him.
“They” set her up from day one. It was planned to get the ineligible Kenyan elected.
I’m sure there are plenty of things McStain regrets.
Oh sure, we all have them, but most of ours aren’t
earthshaking or cost people their lives or freedom.

2008 thread on the Palin pick. Freerepublic was most excited
Truer words were never spoken.......
Yes I believe so too, and now she is “tainted” and forever attached to the loser McCain.
That buffoon suspended his campaign right when he had some momentum. He totally took a dive. Now he blames Palin for his own failures.
I started out to vote for him as the very worst possible choice other than Obama - having Palin on the ticket made it easier....I’m sure we aren’t alone.
Sarah was the ONLY reason I voted McCain.
Good for you - some of us voted against Obama and Sarah made it palatable.....
