There’s a major war brewing in the Middle East between Iran and Israel. It is now getting nasty and ugly, and for the first time, Iranian rockets hit Israel mainland targets. After President Trump decided to withdraw the US from the Iran nuclear deal, within hours of his decision, Israel’s Prime Minister Netanyahu, fearing a massive buildup of Iranian forces that have been taking place in Syria over the last several months, began to “retaliate” (read attack them on sovereign Syrian territory) via massive missile and air-strikes, pounding positions held by Iranian soldiers (Iran has a mutual defense treaty with Syria by the way) south of Damascus and near Aleppo. Iranian and Syrian fighters were killed and missile sites were destroyed. In retaliation and in response to Israel’s aggression, last night Iran’s Quds force (part of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards) who are operating outside Iran, launched over 70 missiles and rockets from Syria over targets in Northern Israel. Israel deployed the Iron Dome, their anti-missile defense system, and they were able to intercept and destroy some of the rockets fired by Iranian forces, but not all.

Iran is a cowardly country. Their nose was bloodied, and bloodied bad. Trump has shown he’s not afraid to go overboard either. No such thing as a fair fight.
In short, Israel stepped up to a bully face to face and kicked their butt. I think ‘67 and ‘73 is still fresh in the minds of them all there.
If there is a war, Israel will take over more territory, with Trump’s blessing. There will no one to stop them this time.
You might also see the other Arab countries coming in behalf of Israel to fight the Iranians and Russians.
It’s time to deal with Iran once and for all now - not later. We should’ve gone there instead of Iraq to start with, IMO. The Iranian people want to be rid of the mullahs.
Europe will side with Iran, as they sell too much stuff to them.

I can’t grasp how anyone on Freeper can defend anything Iran does. The sooner the current regime is toppled, the better. The world will be safer for it.
The people of Iran despise the Mullahs. President Trump signaled very clearly that, unlike his predecessor, he will not turn his back on the next wave of freedom seeking protesters. Maybe young Neda didn’t die in vain.
If Israel wants to finish off the evil regime, I wish them Godspeed.
We’re not about to invade Iran. Impose a no-fly zone on Iran, maybe. But I wouldn’t call that a major war. More a matter of plinking away at Iranian assets until their air defenses are gone. After which the nuclear facilities are destroyed one by one along with any military hardware they use in order to challenge this no-fly zone. Think Desert Storm without the ground engagements. Unless the Iranians want to come out and play, in which case our guys would kill them by the tens of thousands.

The mere presence of troops in a country that has invited them in is not in itself a justification for a deadly response.
It is not proper to bomb either Russians or Iranians in Syria except upon the request of the Syrian government.

We took a class trip to Mobile in 1972 or early 73. As part of the trip we visited the state docks.
When we got there the area around the docks were covered with tanks etc. I would guess at least in the hundreds maybe more.
Our professor sent me and a guy named Barry Diamond who is now a comedian, to ask what was going on. We went to the first ship which had someone handy. They were going to Israel.
Diamond and I pulled a fast one on the Prof. We first told him they were going to the IRA. To our amazement, he believed us. Then we told him the truth.
