Mainstream media organizations in Oregon have obtained transcripts of the grand jury testimony that led to charges against FBI agent W. Joseph Astarita for lying about shots he fired just before Oregon State Police troopers killed LaVoy Finicum on January 26, 2016.
It turns out that the FBI sent out its own Shooting Incident Review Team in February 2016 that was unable to determine if Astarita or the other FBI agents at the scene fired any shots.
But the Oregon shooting team led by the Deschutes County Sheriff's Office along with the Department of Justice's Office of Inspector General and the US Attorney's Office in Portland did determine it was Astarita who fired two unaccounted for shots with missing shell casings.
Defense lawyers for Astarita intend to create doubt with the jury about the veracity of the Oregon shooting investigation at the trial scheduled to begin July 24th.
The transcripts identify the FBI agents who worked with Astarita with their initials like "B.M." and "M.F." and show how Oregon investigators felt the agents as a group were hiding something when they were questioned about what happened.
"Finicum crashed into a snowbank on the side of the road and stepped out his hands in the air.
Passenger Shawna Cox's video showed a small red dot on Finicum's left shoulder as he exited the truck. At the same time Finicum yelled 'Go ahead and shoot me', two shots can be heard on Cox's video, according to a summary report from the FBI's Shooting Incident Response Team.
The first shot hit the roof of Finicum's truck and a second missed. Deschutes County sheriff's detectives, assigned to investigate what happened, traced the trajectory of the bullet that struck the roof to a spot where Astarita, agent B.M. and one state trooper were standing, according to court documents.
In front of a grand jury, a prosecutor asked B.M. if he heard gunshots when Finicum got out of his truck. B.M. was Astarita's immediate supervisor on the Hostage Rescue Tean's blue squad.
'No I do not recall hearing shots fired at that time' B.M. said. He was standing behind Astarita and said he was wearing a noise-dampening headset."

It is believe that one of the two shots fire ended up wounding Ryan Bundy, one of the passengers in Finicum's pickup truck. Bundy is still carrying the shrapnel that was detected in an x-ray taken at a local hospital shortly afterwards on January 26, 2016.

This was murder of a harmless old man for a crime no greater than “not showing the proper respect to uniformed government thugs.”
So even with the court proceedings the FBI are still hiding behind initials like MF and BM? Why not identify these traitors?
not showing the proper respect to uniformed government thugs.
...
Telling the police to shoot you while reaching for the area where you are known to keep your weapon will do that.
The police officers were briefed about where he carried his gun. They were also briefed that Finicum told the press he’d rather die than go to jail.
Obama’s FBI. Murder Inc.
Once again, thanks for the update.
I don’t understand why the agents would lay themselves open to the sort of investigation that they must have known was coming. They would have known that nothing would come of it that would damage themselves but it would make for lots of hassles. The only reason to shoot Finicum that I can figure is intimidation of the others so that they would all cop pleas so this thing would not have to face a jury woth actions that were patently unconstitutional.
The FBI and Co. had their laser illuminating their bodies ready to kill distracting them and scaring them into actions that would justify pulling the triggers on their guns.
How Randy Weaverish of them.
He was reaching for the area where the taser hit him.
He wasn’t tasered.

MF fits many of them.

...
The two officers who shot Finicum did so because he was seen as a threat to the officer coming out of the woods with the Taser.
Finicum yelling that they would have to shoot him, not following commands, and reaching toward the area where he was known to carry his weapon were also part of their assessment.
If it was a such a righteous shooting, why won’t the FBI come clean?
Say the people that lied about how many shots were fired. One OSP officer acknowledged that he drew his taser but was never asked if he deployed it. Finicum’s movements indicate that something hit him before the first gunshot. Tasers will not penetrate heavy clothing. The autopsy goes into great detail about the clothes he was wearing, several layers with an coat. When I was trained on the taser the instructor clearly stated that deployment when the subject has on heavy or several layers of clothes that the barbs will not penetrate. This is well documented and discussed. Taser even made longer barbs to try and solve the problem.
Yup those unruly types on Lexington commons, standing there with their firearms. Standing in the way of a British law enforcement operation to seize their stuff. They all deserved to die; I assume. Being in the wrong, plainly. Against _proper_ law and order. 1775; such fake news.
In previous grand jury testimony that was leaked out to the media, a Department of Justice agent investigating the FBI agents actions said that an Oregon trooper with a taser was getting ready to use it, but of course everyone with guns pointing at LaVoy opened up first with lethal rounds.
They came to kill and treated the people in those vehicles as if they were Al Qaeda or Islamic State.
The leader of the protest Ammon Bundy carried no gun that day.
In fact beyond what LaVoy has in his pocket, the only other firearm was the gun used by FBI informant Mark McConnell driving the other vehicle.
They came to kill ...
...
They came to make legal arrests. Finicum resisted, fled, risked the lives of himself, the other people in his truck, and the police officers.
This shooting is not so much ‘righteous’ as it is “LEGALLY BY THE NUMBERS”.
Taser deployment at an oblique angle from armed deputies. Lavoy turns towards the man in the woods and gets shot 3 times in the back by two OSP “snipers” from less than 50’. Any flinching by anyone has been deemed reason to kill everyone long before the ambush was sprang, back in the planning phase of this ambush.
The two vehicles were fired upon at the first stop as a “jack rabbit” by at least one vehicles is necessary to implement the ambush by our ‘Hostage Rescue Team” up around the blind curve in the road. Where they murdered LaVoy in the snow.
