I myself no longer imbibe as I realized that alcohol and I were incompatible. I more often than not fell victim to if 3 made me feel good, 6 would be better, LOL.
If I was the homeowner, I would consider Grandpa a clear and present danger.
That’s why I wouldn’t call the cops in the first place. First of all, the odds are decent that the cops’ first actions on arrival will be to shoot my dog and myself. Secondly, at least some of the friends and family members of whoever is cooling on the floor will become clear and present dangers, leaving me with the dilemma of living dangerously or taking risky preemptive action.
It can all be avoided firstly by making it nearly impossible for anyone to get in uninvited, which I have done long ago. If they get in regardless and have to be dispatched, my choice at that point would be disposing of dead bodies now, or living friends and relatives later. I choose the former. YMMV
I guess the kids should have called the police to disarm the homeowner before going in. At the rate we’re going, NYC and California will be offering this service before long.
I’ll cut grieving grandpa some slack but his boy made a fatal choice. Leave the homeowner alone however as it’s clearly self defense.
