Facing down crises has always been a measure of reaching adulthood. How a youth responds to peril, especially when they display courage in challenging circumstances, is the line that is crossed to gauge maturity.
Rites of passage vary among cultures but the one aim they usually share is the acquisition of skills needed to provide for and raise a family. Historically, the skills included proficiency with tools used for these purposes such as knives, spears, hoes, picks and axes to hunt, farm, mine and log. Or, on the homemaking side of family needs are mastering the skills of preparing and storing food, clothing construction and training children.
Not just kids but adults as well, doing the most stupid of things
Hell, posting three-sentence clickbait is defined as “contributing to a forum.” When you’re a blog pimp, you can define anything as anything.
American male kids have no rite of passage; feminism removed it - is why they have been so lost for over a generation.
My now 20 year old step-son is a perfect example of this. He screws up everything he touches. One of his main chores for the past 10 years was to scoop of the horse manure and go dump it on the pile. He doesn’t understand the concept of a pile. He dumps his buggy at the edge of the pike until the pile is nothing more than small buggy loads and is spread out all over.
I finally said to him last year that his only skill is F...ing up a shit pile. And he was proud of that!

Actually, I have found Canada Free Press to be a source of some really good conservative articles.
It gets worse. He decided to join the Marines and I warned him they wouldn’t put up with his crap and lazy attitude. He made it to week 7 before he figured that calling his Sr. DI the “N word” was appropriate so they recycled him back to week 2 to start over and he made it to week 10 before he thought it was a good idea to get into another recruit’s mail. They kicked his sorry ass out at that point. He made it back this weekend but won’t come around and face me. He’s hanging out at his friends house. Probably go back on welfare, which he did after he graduated from HS. He’s a real piece of work. And it’s not like we didn’t give him every opportunity to succeed. He blames us because we wouldn’t let him have a cell phone, iPad or other internet accessible devices.
Wasn’t that like the TV series Survivor? Is it still on the telly?
