Trump was damned if signed and damned if he vetoed.

IMHO he picked the best available option that the scumbag congressional repubs provided.

What I hope he does is find ways to reallocate the money, or plain just not spend it chalking it up to reducing GVT waste, fraud and abuse.

Trump was damned if signed and damned if he vetoed.

When faced with such a dilemma, do the right thing.

Trump could have vetoed it, but in the end, I blame McConnell and Ryan more than Trump. Congress could have sent him a clean bill to fund the military, but instead they intentionally stuck it to him by ladling on the usual unnecessary spending that has created this debt.

I knew voters were under-appreciated in the knowledge so many have of the issues they face. Perhaps it's because people in the real world are in situations where the government keeps making their lives more impossible. Liberal dems are isolated from the effects of their insanity on the real world.

In this case, I was angry that President Trump signed the bill. But I realized that the real anger should be directed at Ryan and McConnell who are swampthings who are bought and paid for by the Oligarchy. I didn't think voters would get it that President Trump was deliberately backed against the wall, with the Stormy Daniels scandal timing no coincidence. Voters seem to get it, (like me), reluctantly so. President Trump's best chance at draining the swamp is doing a lot between now and the election, and let the chips fall where they may in November.

I don’t see any downside to a veto. Suppose Trump would have vetoed the bill on live TV, while explaining that deficits matter. Point out the pork, the waste. Most conservatives would have loved to hear that! And independents would have taken notice too.

So then the bill would have been kicked back to Congress. No harm there. if Congress overrides the veto, they own the deficit. if no override, Congress would have to come up with a better bill.
