Jerrold Nadler Puts an Ugly Face on the Biggest Threat to American Democracy

Today’s Campaign Update (Because The Campaign Never Ends)

I watched it on YouTube so you don’t have to, and trust me, you don’t want to. – Fergie butchered the Star Spangled Banner before the NBA All Star game last night so badly that Roseanne Barr was standing and yelling “I’m not the worst anymore! I’m not the worst anymore!” Fergie, sounding for all the world like a lounge singer skit on Saturday Night Live, was so awful that several players could be seen openly mocking her. She was so bad that commentator Shaquille O’Neal looked at Charles Barkley afterwards and said “Man, I need a cigarette after that.” As bad as I’m saying it was, it was much, much worse. Watch the clip if you dare.

It’s come to this. – A Russian curler tested positive for performance enhancing drugs at the Olympics over the weekend. Yes, I said CURLER, as in the sport of CURLING, which requires about the same amount of raw athletic ability as going outside to get the mail. Holy cow. I swear I don’t make this stuff up.

Oprah Winfrey started her 2020 presidential campaign a little early Sunday night, using her platform a fake journalist at 60 Minutes to conduct an incredibly slanted panel discussion involving 14 Michigan voters against President Donald Trump (I still never tire of typing those words). If the Federal Elections Commission were doing its job, it would have CBS declare the episode a campaign event, and all advertising revenues as campaign contributions. Unreal.

The President responded as only he can do on Twitter, as follows: “Just watched a very insecure Oprah Winfrey, who at one point I knew very well, interview a panel of people on 60 Minutes. The questions were biased and slanted, the facts incorrect. Hope Oprah runs so she can be exposed and defeated just like all of the others!” Hilarious.

Retiring GOP Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, talking on “Face the Nation,” warned that her political party is “heading into trouble” and “needs to change” in the face of shifting demographics among the American public. With all due respect to the Congresswoman, in making those remarks she sounds exactly like Karl Rove sounded in 2000 and Jack Kemp sounded in 1988. We have been hearing this sort of rhetoric about how the Republican Party must become less conservative to appeal to a broader cross section of American voters in order to survive for at least 30 years, and yet, somehow the Party survives.

In fact, the GOP in 2018 not only survives, it prospers as it never has in its entire history. Think of it: the GOP has the presidency, majorities in both houses of congress, 33 of 50 governorships, and controls 2/3rds of all the state legislative houses in the country. By any rational measure, the Republican Party is the clear, dominant political party today, and yet all we ever hear from its own members of congress and from the fake news media is that it is somehow “out of touch” and needs to change.

Perhaps Ros-Lehtinen should spend a little less time watching CNN and MSNBC.

Democrat Congressman Jerrold Nadler, the House of Representatives’ version of the late, great Marty Allen only without the sense of humor, told MSNBC fake host Chris Hayes that what the 13 Russians indicted by Robert Mueller did during the 2016 elections was exactly the same as the 1941 Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. Even the far- leftwing Hayes was so taken aback that he responded:

“It’s a bit of a different thing.”

“No it’s not,” Mr. Nadler promptly snapped.

“They didn’t kill anyone,” Mr. Hayes protested.

“They didn’t kill anyone but they’re destroying our democratic process,” the congressman caviled.

Pretty much anyone who calls themselves a Democrat these days is utterly deranged with hatred, but Nadler’s remarks take this derangement syndrome to new heights. Again, what these Russians did was create a bunch of fake accounts on Twitter and Facebook, and stage a bunch of fake rallies, at which they paid protesters to attend. This is stuff the Democrat Party itself, working with George Soros, does on pretty much a daily basis, yet it seems as if the Democrat Party has adopted starting a shooting war with Russia as a new plank in its party platform.

Should Americans be concerned about the Russian activities? Yes, just as we should have been concerned about Russian efforts to undermine our democratic institutions for the last 70 years. But we should be even more concerned about a domestic political party that has far more ability to undermine those institutions and our freedoms from within, and which works so damn hard each and every day to do just that.

The sad truth about America in the year 2018 is that the single biggest threat to its survival comes not from Russia, not from Islamic terrorism, not from China or any other foreign entity. The single biggest threat to America’s survival comes from a political party that is so focused on regaining and maintaining political power that it is willing to say or do literally anything to achieve that goal.

Going back to Ros-Lehtinen’s comments: If any political party has lost touch with the American people, it is the Democrat Party, which has actively abandoned any effort to mount any appeal whatsoever to the vast majority of the United States that lies between the major media centers on the East and West coasts. The Democrat Party is not only out of touch with that great American middle, it is actively hostile to its values and goals and needs.

Best of luck in your retirement, Congresswoman, you no doubt have a great future as a guest talking head for CNN.

Just another day in Trump Derangement Syndrome America.

That is all.

Jerrold “No-nads” Nadler strikes me as kind of a mamma’s boy. Where does he think he’s going with this? He needs to be sent to his room where he can feel safe.

Simple.

From the article: "In fact, the GOP in 2018 not only survives, it prospers as it never has in its entire history.

November 2018 will tell us if this is a fluke or long-term trend.
Let's hope trend.

But regardless, the psychological damage has long been done in the minds of many Republicans, especially those of a, ah, certain age.
In our minds, regardless of how many wins the good guys rack up, we are always the minority, always getting bullied by big Dems, always hope just to kiss their, ah, rings to grab a few crumbs off the Dems' banquet plates.

Not sure what it would take to convince them we're in charge now, let the Dems grovel for a change.
Ideally, in November some of the worst suck-up Republicans get replaced by back-bone conservatives and we still hold majorities.

Buuuut..... can anyone tell me which is better, a Hatch or a Romney?

</facepalm>

On the variety of subjects covered:

NBA “All-Star” game: I’m through acting as though I care anything about any sport that is played merely to give a platform for ignorant pronouncements from the majority-minority millionaires about their SJW views.

Oprah on “60 Minutes”: PDJT had it right about the total bias on display from Oprah but I’ll give the patriots on the panel their due because they got in a few zingers that couldn’t be left in the editing room.

Jerrold Nadler: “Jerrold the Hutt” - I’ll never get tired of using that label.

“The Waddler” is what Sen. Al D’Amato called him.

I had the dubious distinction of being in the same graduating class as Nadler (Stuyvesant H.S., New York City, 1965.) Your analysis is accurate. He was very active in school politics. Surprisingly, he was a slim guy back then.

That singing was absolutely the worst that I’ve ever heard. Was she drunk or does she behave like that all the time? Well, Roseanne is right - she’s not the worst any longer! Horrible - Horrible - Horrible......

It is out of touch, and needs to stop stabbing its constituency in the back. End ObamaCare, fund the Wall, enforce immigration law, and CUT spending... or else get replaced in the Primaries by those who will.

Many older Republicans grew up in a period 1946-1994 when it was the gospel that the Republicans would never be the majority party. The best the Republicans could hope for was to play a defense of bend-but-not-break.

These Republicans really think that bend-but-not-break is being a good Republican.

Didn’t someone post a picture once of Jabba the Hut, only with Nadler’s face on it?
