Democrat Phil Murphy, New Jerseys new governor, made it clear this week he is onboard with turning a number of gun control proposals into the Garden States newest gun control laws.
Murphy, elected on a platform that included getting tough on guns, gathered with like-minded advocates at the Betty and Milton Katz Jewish Community Center in Cherry Hill to talk about combatting gun violence through a series of bills pending in the legislature to expand background checks, make it harder to get a carry permit and ban a variety of ammunition, guns and devices. Murphy acknowledged that the proposals likely would have been rejected by former Gov. Chris Christie.
Together, we can pass gun safety laws that have been vetoed in the past and reclaim our place as a state that acts on facts and common sense, Murphy said in a statement. We must again become a state that values the safety of our residents and communities over the misguided priorities of the gun lobby.
Among the legislative package supported by Murphy is A2757, which would require background checks on private gun sales; A2758, which curbs past moves by Christie to make it easier to get a carry permit; A2759, to ban armor-piercing ammunition; A2760, to ban .50-caliber rifles; and A2761 to limit gun magazine capacity to 10 rounds.

How about a law requiring all NJ citizens to wear body armor?
Or better yet, said armor provided by NJ state.
Well, they said to value the safety of residents ...
So, all this will make it safe for a white to walk through Newark any time of day?
FU you stinking NJ voters who stayed home knowing full well what would be “selected” as governor (This SOB is Corzine on steroids). It’s disgusting and if not for my job and family,(for now),I must stay, but I dream of the day I am out of this sh*thole state run by a-hole liberals. Furthermore, the voters are intellectually lazy but b*tch about everything but elect the same sewage into office and must love giving Trenton hard earned money as politicians p*ss on the Constitution.
....make it harder to get a carry permit....
How is it possible to do that in New Jersey?
You just can’t fix stupid.
Anytime you see the words gun lobby used by liberals, you can be sure that they regard gun owners as the class enemy to be ruthlessly suppressed.
Meanwhile, in CA, CT, NY, & MA they now require registration of “assault rifles” with confiscation & arrest of owners for noncompliance. Average compliance rate: 5%. State police chieftains huff & puff & threaten, but so far, no hordes of flying monkeys with badges are out there banging on doors.
NJ’ers should stock up & stand off.
Geez, do you think we’ll actually miss ol’ Gov. Chris Crisco Fatzerino?
They’re not stupid, they know exactly what they do; they’re fascists!
MR GOVERNOR
Once you dismiss YOUR security team - at least NO guns or Armored vehicles or other little goodies that John Q Public can sometimes not afford or but zeros like YOU prohibit JQ to own such devices.
Once you can ensure that I, in the course of my normal, Legal business, can do business in Trenton, Newark or some the other $hiiteholes that YOU and your Liberal brethern have managed to mismanage to the point where cops don’t even want to enter certain area AND they have LEGAL weapons and the ‘bad guys’ know they are armed.
NOW, maybe if companies would stop delivering to certain areas and people would quit spending money in your state - which during my yute had a festering swamp considered park land - the citizens would wake up and do something.
New Jersey is not a state that acts on facts and common sense.
How come gun restrictions aren’t struck down by federal judges like they do to abortion laws.
Stupid is as stupid does.

Bearing arms is a constitutional civil right. If the governor violates people’s civil rights, Trump needs to send US marshals to the state capital to ensure that those civil rights are not violated.
Of course.
He’s a democommie, being the piece of sh*t that we all already knew he’d be.
“Murphy, elected on a platform that included getting tough on guns, gathered with like-minded advocates at the Betty and Milton Katz Jewish Community Center in Cherry Hill...”
Of course.
And keep the sleazy RATscum out of Red States
Unfortunately, not a single one of these people will ever be jailed for denial of rights or depravation of rights under color of law.
Hope his family is raped and mutilated by some of his mellow illegals that he wants to protect.
My wife and I moved from The People’s Republic of New Jersey and had CCW permits in two weeks. Also can buy firearms with all the scary bells and whistles.
1. As a Jew, it is sad that some of the biggest backers of this gun-grabbing tyrant are undoubtedly Jewish, and that some obviously Leftist Jews pulled a lot of strings to get this gun-grabbing tyrant to make this announcement in a Jewish Community Center. Way to go, Ghetto Jews, making it easy for non-Jewish patriots to hate ALL of us!
2. As a former resident of the dark and fascist Peoples Republic of New Joisey - well, let’s just say that I’m glad to be a FORMER resident, having escaped about 17 years ago with lots of guns and, more importantly, enough 20- and 30-round magazines to have landed me in prison there for about 200 years. I am extremely happy to not longer be in that $hithole of Leftist fascism, and to be living in Texas, Free America.
I see many following your lead.
