Limbaugh Makes It ‘Very Clear’ That He Doesn’t Think Trump Sold Us Out
DailyRushbo ^ | January 10, 2018 | Rush Limbaugh

Posted on 01/10/2018 1:51:02 PM PST by E. Pluribus Unum

RUSH: You know, the first hour, take one, I told you what my take on this is. Even though CNN’s misrepresenting it. CNN’s putting me in the Chatsworth Osborne Jr. category where I think Trump sold us out. And that’s not what I think happened yesterday. I’ve been very clear what I think happened. But CNN is eager to make it appear that Trump is losing his base.

Grab sound bite 23. This is the most recent one. Again, back to John King’s show on CNN. He spoke with their White House correspondent named Abby Phillip about conservative reaction — and, by the way, you better get sound bite number one handy, ’cause we’re probably gonna follow this with that.

So John King says to Abby Phillip, the White House correspondent, CNN, “Ann Coulter, Mark Levin, Rush Limbaugh, many others saying, ‘Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, wait a minute, you were our guy on this. You were build the wall, anti-amnesty, Little Marco, Jeff is soft. What happened yesterday? Was that a one-day episode of the reality TV show that sometimes is the Trump White House where ‘I need Democrats right now so I’m going to pretend to be nicer and softer?’ Which was it?”

So, you see, I’ve been put in that camp that thinks Trump is selling us out. Well, let me remind you, this is what I said yesterday after I had considered everything. This was my take on it. Audio sound bite number one.

“Trump must know how Columbus felt when his crew was about to mutiny. Base jumpers should be ashamed to bolt so quickly.”

Great analogy! Every DAY I wake up and I feel as if President Trump is reading my mind. He KNOWS what your average, ‘Jane Appletini’ wants and he’s going to deliver it! Of course there will be some compromises along the way, but he is a master negotiator; he’s NOT going to lose for the most part!

We also have to remember we are only a year or so into this and thanks to the Enemy Media and the ‘Rats, it’s been UPHILL EVERY SINGLE DAY! We have a good FIFTY years or more of STUPIDITY and anti-America policies to reverse. That is NOT going to happen overnight. I’m 57 and this is the FIRST TIME since President Reagan that I’ve seen even a GLIMMER of hope that we’re turning this ship around!

A lot of the doubters here on FR, need to get a grip and then zip it. Enjoy the daily show as President Trump pokes the Enemy Media and the ‘Rats right in the EYE! Yeesh!

Not a day goes by that I don't thank God that Trump is President.

Way too many whiny snowflakes here.

"Sorry, Rush, but he said he’ll sign anything they send him. That is a sellout."

As a waiter back in the day seeing many pontificators on the Dias speaking congratulatory about this that and the other thing about a certain individual and everyone applauds. Now in business some 10 yrs or so hence, I learned good news in public (especially performance awards ) bad news in private..

My guess is PDJT was being the Toastmaster a bit too much here, and I'll cut him some slack. Do I think he waivers one bit? Zero, Zip, Nada. DACA is illegal and will die if Scmucky Chumer and his fakata carnival don't give POTUS something to sign. Art of the deal baby, POTUS is holding all the cards IMHO. The Dems have ugats for their constituency if they don't come to the table and realize PDJT is the Boss..

Lol. How many times does this have to happen? Trump says something that sounds liberal. Then all the pearl clutchers start caterwauling “He’s betraying us!” Nothing actually happens. But we get days of freepers and pundits running in circles. “The sky is falling.” Lol.

Sorry, Rush, but he said he’ll sign anything they send him. That is a sellout.

Bullsh-t. Spoken like a true #NeverTrumper. You're a sellout—as a supposed supporter of this President.

President Trump clearly said any immigration bill would have to include funding for the wall. You conveniently omitted that fact from your phony "sellout" accusation.

As usual, you look for any opportunity to indulge your hand-wringing Trump-bashing.

President Trump has done nothing but earn our loyalty for a solid year of governing, and you try to push that disingenuous garbage?

Throughout the meeting, Trump said repeatedly that, yes, he would sign whatever they sent him...
...as long as it included border security with the wall and an end to chain migration.

He said it over and over right up to the end of the meeting. Border security, his wall and chain migration are off the table. When DiFi demanded a clean bill on DACA alone he flatly said no. No DACA without the wall. The guy with the Mexican accent sitting next to Feinstein tried the same thing “We should start with a clean DACA bill” he said and Trump came right back with “Not without the wall.”

Then, showing them who was in charge, he said “But I’m sure we can all come up with something I can sign” and called on someone at the opposite end of the table who allowed as how border security did need to be part of the deal. To which Trump added “With the wall”.

He said it so many times I don’t know how anyone could miss it unless they only watched clips on MSNBC and not the entire meeting.

hope not. What was said yesterday was very disconcerting.

Trump wrote a book on this, "The Art of the Deal." If it were easy, little girls like you could do it.

He hasn't betrayed us yet.

But you go ahead and pee in your panties. You seem to be very good at it.

Despite his use of some disheartening language yesterday, I still think he is playing the Democrats and not US.
My guess is he thinks nothing will pass and he will be cleared to deport.

He said it at least once without conditions. I don’t know how anyone could have missed that. He said he was leaving it to the people in Congress because he trusts them and if they send him a bill, he is going to sign it.

Now, we know theses swamp creatures well enough by now to know atht they can’t be trusted. They’ll send DACA alone, or with empty promises like we got in Simpson-Mazzoli. No appropriation will be made.

Remember Simpson-Mazzoli, which President Reagan said was his biggest mistake? it granted amnesty to the ten-3 million illegals in the country and included border security — but the border security never got funded. It turned out to be just amnesty, and now we have 11 million (officially, probably more) and we’re talking amnesty again. Why? So we can have 40-50 million illegals?

In teh Bush Administration, Congress authorized 10,000 new Boarder Patrol agents. Then the didn’t fund them. The only new hires were the replacements for those who retired or quit.

So why would anyone, least of all Trump, trust the swamp creatures in Congress? Yet he says he does and says he’ll sign what they send him.

He said flat out that when they send him a bill, he will sign it. Period. End of sentence. Full Stop.

You're taking that one sentence out of context—and you know it.

The President's serious supporters are able to assimilate the entirety of what was said—and not cherry pick an isolated sentence which utterly fails to place the discussion in its full context.

So take your self-indulgent #NeverTrump propaganda and begone. After a year of hand-wringing from you and your ilk, your "sky is falling" hysteria is patently comical.

Concern Troll sez: Oh noes! Trump is done!

Trumpers like Laura Ingraham and Ann Coulter, among others, heard it the way I did. This is somethign to be concerned about.

Unlike you, I don’t support anyone blindly and unconditionally. I’m not a robot. it’s not about trump; it’s about principles and policies.

Ann Coulter’s column has the transcript of the relevant exchange. Again, he told America that he’ll sign whatever Congress sends him. Many of his supporters are concerned about that. And earlier in this thread, I cited quotes from just a few months before he declared that should be worrisome to anyone who genuinely cares about this issue.

The blind, mindless support he gets form people like you who are willing to twist themselves like pretzels to say that he didn’t say what he said was why he made the famous statement that he could shoot someone in the middle of Fifth Avenue and not lose a single vote.

This issue may put that to the test.

Unlike you, I don’t support anyone blindly and unconditionally.

It's not blind or unconditional. It's based on a year of accumulated evidence at this point—evidence which you willfully disregard.

You shouldn't oppose someone blindly either. You're the one who looks blind, based on the President's propven track record of good faith. Do you deny that?

The hand-wringing of you and your Trump-doubting ilk is like a worn out broken record at this point; your skepticism is not based in facts or objective reality, but rather fear—such negativity simply can't be justified at this point. The facts of a year of superb governance stand in direct contradiction to your fear-mongering.

So my denouncement of your negativity stands. Maybe a year ago you could have made such dire predictions with more credibility, but such gratuitous hysteria is no longer defensible...
