Oregon Standoff: Federal Judge Won't Delay Disbarment Hearing For Ammon Bundy Lawyer

Senior US District John Coughenour from western Washington state has for a second time refused to delay an evidence hearing scheduled Monday in Portland for Ammon Bundy defense lawyer Marcus Mumford.

Mumford represented Bundy in the trial where he and six other defendants were found not guilty in connection with the 2016 Oregon Standoff protest.

When Mumford argued before US District Judge Anna J. Brown for the release of his client, a group of federal marshals descended on him, tackling, tasing and arresting him.

Marcus Mumford had criminal charges filed against him which were later dropped but then the Chief US District Judge in Oregon, Michael Mosman, moved to disbar Mumford from federal court in Oregon.

In a series of rulings Judge Coughenour has ruled against Mumford including this latest request for a delay citing a new lawyer representing him and the presence of witnesses in Nevada this Monday January 8th (in connection with the Bunkerville Standoff case). Marcus Mumford also brought up personal and financial issues in his filing with the judge.

Disbarment from Oregon's federal court would be a mark against Mumford, something he would have to disclose in any court he practices law in.

The hearing is set for Monday morning January 8th at 10am.

While the big event takes place with Bunkerville in Las Vegas, this hearing for Ammon Bundy's defense lawyer on disbarment takes place in lawyer.

If you are the Bundy's and support the Bundy's, the authorities come after you.

When is that going to stop?

Ammon Bundy said in a video the other day he hasn't seen the government back off yet.

It continually amazes me that all lawyers both for prosecution and defense are only interested in WINNING!

I don’t think there are many lawyers who wouldn’t get immense satisfaction out of getting their clients, be they heinous murders or crooked cops or crooked politicians off the hook. (Mumford might be one of the exceptions)

You hire a lawyer to WIN. Only a moron would hire a lawyer who only wants to find the truth.

You hire a lawyer for one reason. TO WIN. Nothing else.

Why do they want his disbarred? Didnt he get his client off and then lay there and let the “MAN” taze him to their delight?

Why do they want him disbarred?

When Bundy was found not guilty by the judge, the U.S. Marshals laid hands on him and announced they are holding him for trial in Nevada. Bundy had been incarcerated nearly 2 years at that time. His attorney, Mumford, stepped beside his client and requested a copy of the transfer papers. The Marshals said they left papers in their office, and Mumford objected to the judge. In mid-sentence the Marshals executed a pre-planned take-down and tased the defense attorney in open court. The evidence hearing is to cross-examine the Marshals about their pre-planned intimidation tactics and take-down of the attorney.

“You hire a lawyer for one reason. TO WIN. Nothing else.”

Yes, very true. Yet one can still wonder what motivates a lawyer to choose the profession, and actively work with mafiosos who’ve murdered or caused to be murdered hundreds of people, in some cases securing their freedom through bribery of juries or witness intimidation. To knowingly cause a young girl’s rapist to get off almost scot free, and laugh about it later.

You also hire a hit man for one reason. One can still marvel at the callous disregard those involved have for other human beings.

Trump needs to send the DOJ after all law enforcement, prosecutors, judges, etc., who are involved with this massive deprevation of civil rights surrounding the Bundy case. It smells to high-heaven of conspiracy and RICO violations. Why are these criminals allowed to continue?

He did, but the whole reason to invite his court-martial was to finally get the truth.

And hiding the truth was why Judge Denise Lind decided that foreign combat orders could be lawful even without the Commander-in-Chief authorizing it as specifically required by Congress’ Authorization to Use Force.

Hiding the truth was so important, that this judge would allow a Lt Col. to order our troops to perform combat operations even without the President’s knowledge or consent.

Tells you what Lakin was up against. And why? Because John Brennan and James Comey breached the DOH databases to lie about Obama’s records, and legal discovery would have revealed that. That’s also why the sheathing on the wiring of my husband’s van was removed the day after I was put in contact with Lakin’s legal team to give my documentation that the HDOH records had been compromised - a fact that would REQUIRE the original records to be examined, which was precisely what the Deep State through Judge Lind HAD TO PREVENT.

The end result of that decision is that Lakin was not allowed to defend himself. A violation of the 14th Amendment, IMHO.

A lawyer can choose who they want to represent. They are not required to defend everyone who walks in their door.

Lawyers who defend people like Tony Soprano are most likely only in it for some big money and are probably without morals themselves.

My father in law was a partner in a law firm. He was a very honorable man and turned down many potential clients due to his own moral code.

You’re stating the obvious. I think it was the original poster’s intention to question the motivation of some attorneys who care not one whit about anything OTHER than winning. A person does not have to sell his or her soul to win, yet many do.
