A judge on Dec. 8 released graphic video showing Daniel Shaver crawling on his hands and knees and begging for his life before he was shot and killed.
The shooting, by Philip Mitch Brailsford, then an officer with the Mesa Police Department, occurred after officers responded to a call about a man allegedly pointing a rifle out of a fifth-floor window at a La Quinta Inn.
The graphic video, which was released after a jury on Thursday acquitted the officer of murder and manslaughter charges, stoked outrage on social media and renewed calls for reforms in law enforcement. See the graphic video of this Shaver police shooting here.
Here's some of the reaction on Facebook:

Just remember folks, He was CLEARED By Internal Affairs, his Commanding Officers, and All of his fellow Officers.
This alone should make EVERYONE SCARED of the Police.
Why are we supposed to have Trust and Faith in the Police again, I forgot??
I am rapidly coming to the conclusion that most cops should not be issued firearms.
Was this Mesa, Arizona?
Why are we supposed to have Trust and Faith in the Police again, I forgot??
Because 90% of them are out there doing their job, risking their life daily to keep us in a civil society which would totally breakdown within 3 days if they were not there?
Murder.
Lesson learned from this video: If a cop is pointing a gun at you, raise your hands high, fall to the floor on your face, and don’t make a single move, no matter what he says. Keep those hands nowhere near your torso or you will probably die.
That was so disturbing to watch. No way should that guy be on any police force.
Had I been in that kids position, I would have laid face down spread eagle hands up and no moved an inch.
So, so terribly disgusting to watch.
Because 90% of them are out there doing their job, risking their life daily to keep us in a civil society which would totally breakdown within 3 days if they were not there?
I’d put it at around 50%.
I agree 90% is too high.

Which part of that 90% took down the shooter in this Murder???
Did any of that 90% ARREST him?
Did any of that 90% demand of their superiors that he be arrested?
100% of the Officers present and back at the station FULLY SUPPORTED THIS MURDERER’S ACTIONS, only now are they speaking out. A little late maybe??
I agree, no more Simon says games for me.
Nice to have body camera, who knows what tale would been told.
In case anyone else was wondering: Graham v Connor.
The Supreme court, in their decision in Graham v Connor, stated: “The calculus of reasonableness must embody allowance for the fact that police officers are often forced to make split-second judgements in circumstances that are tense, uncertain, and rapidly evolving—about the amount of force that is necessary in a particular situation.
Graham v Connor provides the general framework for assessing whether a particular use of force is legal under the Fourth Amendment. This like most general standards found in Fourth Amendment precedent, operates through a balancing test. Courts applying this test my pay “careful attention to the facts and circumstances of each particular case, including the severity of the crime at issue, whether the suspect poses an immediate threat to the safety of the officers or others, and whether he is actively resisting arrest or attempting to evade arrest by flight. This judgement is made from the perspective of the reasonable officer on the scene rather than with the 20/20 vision of hindsight”.

1 out of 2 cops are doing their job? Yeep, yep, yep. Not so good, Al.
It appears that the police are the ones who made the circumstances “tense” in that video.
He was using his personal AR15 on the job. It was authorized by his unit. However, he had an inscription on the gun that read “You’re F@Cked”. That was why he was fired. The inscription was unauthorized. I suppose they wanted him gone because he was a huge liability and that was what they used to rid of him. Glad he’s gone. Wish he was in jail tho.
The suspect should have been handcuffed when he was laying on the ground. That whole crawling thing was awful. Most of us here would have probably been shot under those circumstances. When you’re being screamed at, it’s hard to process information.
i expressed my concern over the officers’ training in the other thread about the video, here:

There’s a video of that homeless guy in Arizona who did exactly that, and he was shot dead anyhow.
He should've remained calm under pressure but he was making the situation worse by acting like a drug addled junkie
