Rep Trent Franks, according to reporting on the Tucker Carlson show, is being pushed out, not for sexual harassment, but for bringing up surrogacy for him and his wife due to being unable to have children.
Apparently he brought this subject up with a couple of women in his office but at no time suggested or asked either be a surrogate. If they took any offense or felt uncomfortable; that's on the women for being far too easily offended.
I'm so mad about this I could chew nails. Ryan should be escorted out of DC by armed Secret Service agents and told to never return. Trent Franks is one of the good ones. This stinks of back room politics. I can't help but think the ultimate target is President Trump. This is the sleaziest of politics.
Rhetorical. Of course it's the GOPe swamp doing it.
Franks is a good man, but Ryno would get rid of the entire freedom caucus if he could.
There may be something else and he’s being let go easy.
He was the most powerful person in that organization, and while not Sexual Harassment per se, he WAS out of line.
Franks is one of the few from Arizona who is not a Cheap Labor Express stooge.

I heard this on Tucker. Either there is something else, or Ryan wants Franks gone because he is a Freedom Caucus guy. From the story the staffer on Tucker told, this sucks.
Has Ryno got any skeletons in his closet? Has he done anything inappropriate towards women or . . . men?

Politics is a scam and we’re suckers for playing.
We are a nation of laws and the rule of law.
There are no clear cut rules on this. We went from traditional Judeo-Christian rules of no sex before marriage and seeking marriage as the purpose of flirting and similar activity to ANYTHING GOES.
Now people are revealing that the support they gave ANYTHING GOES is worse that Judeo-Christian rules. But they don’t want to go back to those old restrictions.
They want fun with no consequences.

This is an astounding story. I saw Franks defended by a woman on Fox and I could not get my brain around this. It should be the highest priority to ruin and dismiss Paul Rino in the most devastating way. I am sure that Steve Bannon is on this night and day.. Go Steve!! Down with all RINOS!!

Franks' former staffer who just appeared on Tucker Carlson's show was excellent, very credible. Wish we had a video of her appearance. If these two "uncomfortable conversations" with staffers is why Franks feels he needs to resign, this is absolutely tragic.

A real man stands up to pressure rather than giving in to blackmail. If someone doesn’t want to stand on their hind legs and fight, why should I care?
He really isn’t that kind of guy. He votes conservative and pro-gun every time. I’d say he is one of the best in DC and Ryan is pushing him out over nothing.
Anyone who thinks talking about that issue of surrogacy during casual conversation with people you know well and work with, probably consider friends, well, all I can say is Pthhhht. It’s called sharing something personal which is how people tend to grow closer and become better friends. Nothing at all wrong with it at all IMHO.

What’s wrong with talking about surrogate pregnancies? Did he ask one of the women if they would consider carrying a baby? Not seeing what the “big deal” is to force a resignation. Had a business partner years ago- she and her husband were unable to conceive and wanted a child. They spent several years and tons of money....today their son is 17 years old.
There must be more to this story, especially since Ryan is sounding off.

Sure there is. The status quo is making swampers and their families filthy stinking rich on our backs. Occam’s Razor here, IMO.
