Billy J. Williams, the Acting US Attorney in Oregon, named by the Obama Administration (Attorney General Loretta Lynch) in 2015, is now President Trump's nominee for that post.
In a statement, the White House said that Williams and the other three US Attorney nominees in other parts of the country shared Trump's vision for "Making America Safe Again".
Williams prosecuted protestors involved in the Oregon Standoff including the seven "leaders" found not guilty in October of 2016 and then prosecuted other protesters adding misdemeanor charges onto felonies and using a jury consultant.....
The two Democrats who represent Oregon in the US Senate, Ron Wyden and Jeff Merkley, urged President Trump to nominate Williams to the post.
Williams was also endorsed by the Oregon State Sheriff's Association that backed the FBI led law enforcement efforts that became deadly and aggressive during the non violent Oregon Standoff protest.

The sheriff's organization took a stand when one sheriff known as a "Constitutional Sheriff", Glenn Palmer of Grant County, urged a negotiated settlement of the protest including the release of jailed ranchers Dwight and Steven Hammond.......

It was an “Oregon Live” story about the defense lawyer for Ammon Bundy in the first Oregon Standoff, the one tackled, tased and arrested by US Marshals in the courtroom right after his client and six others were found not guilty.
This story was taken down almost as fast as I posted it this morning in News/Activism.

Why was it taken down? I sent an email asking why your posts are called “crap” by admin. mods, and why they keep getting pulled. It was never answered. Since Free Republic is the best source if news out there, I fail to see why what is happening to these people at the hands of a “Do what we say or else” type of government is insignificant.
You can bet it is based upon Sessions’ recommendation.

I’m not saying blog posts shouldn’t be posted here, and I generally refrain from trying to police such activity, but your rationale for not posting here the entire post from your blog struck me as laughable. I literally LOL’ed when I read it.

As I and others have pointed out, Trump has no sympathy for anyone that opposes the US, siezes public lands and facilities, destroys public property, takes arms against the US, calls on others to do so. Doesn’t matter the reason for doing so, it is against the US these folks acted and that they have faced consequences for. He said as much during the campaign and nothing since has changed that. The Hammonds, Bundys, and others should be lucky they are alive, as they should have been immediately shot. Law enforcement and the attorneys are just doing their job. Good to see the attorneys given endorsement for doing their jobs.

Are you aware that in our system of government, POTUS can not appoint US Attorneys? He can only NOMINATE the candidates. Then they must be approved by the US Senate. Who do we have in senate? 48 democrats, and McCain, Flake, Corker, Sasse, Collins, etc. who all hate Trump.
The swamp is huge. No one man can drain the swamp in 10 months. Start electing conservative congress critters first. To blame the Obama appointees staying on Trump smacks of unfamiliarity with the system.
Maybe the President should have clearly defined what is meat by making America great again.
Some of us assumed, based on the inaugural speech, that liberty was now to be a priority, if not THE priority. Guess we figured wrong.

Do you believe is “selective” breaking of existing laws which do not jive with your ideology? It would be OK if BLM destroys business properties with riots because it is their ideology?
Sorry, but count me in the camp who believes laws come first. If you do not like the existing laws, work on getting them changed. That is how our system of democratic republic works. Breaking laws you do not like is not my cup of tea.
Not really sure what you are asking. The response these people got over “trespassing cows” from the government forces far exceeded the response to any BLM riot. All they wanted were answers. They got helicopters, snipers, animals killed, and ended up in a one sided gunfight where one of them was murdered. What law did they break? The cows walked around on vacant land? Any government official, acting in good faith, with nothing to gain for himself (if they even exist anymore) could have prevented most of this.
Yes it was intentional.
