I would submit that the number is much larger.
The smart ones just didn’t respond to the question.

Which raises the question, “How many carry unloaded handguns?”

Only 3 million were stupid enough to answer that question.

16 million concealed carry permits in the US, millions more can carry in constitutional carry states and only 3 million people carry daily? If this were true it would be a sad statistic.
I think most people, if confronted with a survey asking if they carried a loaded firearm daily, might not answer truthfully.

Only 1% of the population? I think much, much more.

I dont believe those numbers for one second.
There are probably that many inner city thugs carrying guns every day. Let alone law abiding citizens.

If 10% of the population carried, everyone would be much safer.

From the 4,000 U.S. adults who participated in the online survey, 1,500 of them were handgun owners.
And another 500 will say they aren't but won't provide the poll taker with information that is NONE OF HIS BUSINESS.
In addition to the 3 million who carry daily, researchers found that 9 million Americans carry a gun once a month.
Plus another 500,000 who will never tell you they carry.
Those few million make the rest of us that much safer in states that have a little respect for the Second Amendment and make conceal/carry practical. It is one more thing a criminal has to include in his calculus.

Makes you think... That number is much greater than the transgendered population. We are expected to turn the world upside down to accommodate them.

3 million? That’s like 1%. Does not sound correct.

I would never admit to carrying a loaded weapon for a multitude of reasons, and I suspect most sane people that want to keep their 2A rights would do the same.
This poll is just bogus, the actual count is considerably higher.

...3 million Americans carry a loaded handguns...Why the hell would I carry an UNloaded handgun?
And this is way out wrong, even in it's stupidity of journalism.
I would submit that probably closer to 25 million or so Americans are armed at any given time.
I can remember even as a child, seeing many, many of my fathers and grandfathers acquaintances, all of them with a small pistol of some sort...in a pocket, in the bib of their overalls, jammed into the small of their back, etc.
Weren't no big thing...nobody was traumatized and most all were well behaved, because even 50-60 years ago, it was a known and accepted fact that an armed society was a polite society, except for the very few that had to be "corrected" on occasion.
These gun grabbing nitwits have no clue.
And now, the presence of a loaded handgun is very hard to determine, as advancements in concealment items and the very fact that it isn't "cool" to flash your defensive items.
Even today, at my ripe old age of 67, at any given time, I have two guns, two knives for "whittlin' and whistlin'" and at least one so-called tactical knife for last chance defense.
And the chances of any casual observer seeing that I am so armed are very slim.
None of their business in the first place.

An estimated 3 million Americans carry a loaded handgun on themselves every day... If you carry an unloaded handgun you might as well carry a cop instead.
