Jimmy Carter is the oldest of all living ex-presidents at 93, but he is still in tune with national politics. He made his views about some of the latest pressing national issues very clear in a recent interview with New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd.
On Russia meddling in the election
Dowd asked Carter: “Did the Russians purloin the election from Hillary?”
Carter said: “Rosie and I have a difference of opinion on that.” Rosie is Carter’s wife.
“I don’t think there’s any evidence that what the Russians did changed enough votes, or any votes,” Carter followed up.....

I think he's aiming for more than that. He wants to be no worse that third worst former President. He might pass GWB after these comments.

Ergo, if he, Carter, failed at it, nobody else can do it either, so it didn't happen.
Say what you will about Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton...and I have no respect for either, believe me...they both at least know something about politics.
That’s why neither buys into the Russia conspiracy nonsense. Anyone with a lick of common sense could see that Hillary was running a doomed campaign. Despite her fake poll-lead trumped up by an obedient media, she had no connection with voters, had a nonexistent crowd turnout, and was running a purely negative campaign.
Compared to Trump’s populist surge with gigantic crowds and a passionate voter base. I’ve read that Bill knew from experience from a guy who won 2 presidential elections Hillary would lose, though no one in her campaign believed him.
Same with Carter now.
To believe the Trump-Russia conspiracies, you have to believe that Hillary was going to win until the Russians helped steal the election from her. It’s a false premise.
Ruh-roh. What was that Moochelle said recently about white womyn who voted for Trump? They are traitors to their sex?
Can't the same thing be said of cracka-ettes who voted against the human bobble-head in the primaries?
I wish that old man would make up his mind. I’ve spent more time bashing him than anyone else when he does stupid stuff and then he comes along and is lucid and speaks the truth and I got nothin’........nothin’ at all........;)

Carter may have ‘lusted in his heart’, but he seems to have been a pretty decent man in that respect. I’m sure he finds BJ abhorrent.

Actually would have been chalked up to senility BUT Carter has probably interfered with more elections than all others on earth combined. (I do mean OUTSIDE interference)
I always used to believe that Cater was the worst US President ... until 2008 Obama was elected. In contrast Carter was devote Christian; Navy Officer; a patriot. I hold same respect for him as for Reagan. I’m especially happy that his cancer was cured at this age and that he lives long enough to see himself dethroned the title of “the worst US President”
Next thing you know he’ll be asking obozo where’s his real birth certificate.
Maybe his brain tumor did him some good.
He’s trying to suck up to Trump to get him to play Dennis Rodman in NK.
I think what really ticked him off was the theft of the Haitian aid money by the Clinton money laundering foundation which of course to date has never been investigated.
I thought Jimmy Carter lost his marbles but is proving to be smarter or more caring about this country than the Democratic politicians in congress.
Oh he had the Clintons pegged as crooked grifters from the get go and couldn't stand them. Carter at least wasn't the crook type who would seek to enrich himself via politics like the Clintons seem to have perfected, he was just a total idiot when it came to foreign policy. Let him sling a few more arrows their way, I love seeing the democratic party implode upon itself.
