From now on, I'm no longer going to call myself a conservative. I am a proud "Normal"!
Words have power and we've allowed the left to define terms of the debate for too long. By calling myself a "Normal", I'm declaring that the left, the sexual anarchists, the communists and all their ilk are "not normals". The right lost the marriage debate when we allowed the left to frame the argument in terms of "marriage equality." Time to change the debate.
Good for you! A couple of writers/bloggers I read regularly, Col. Kurt Schlichter and “The Z-Man”, have been talking up the idea that we should identify as “normals”. I agree wholeheartedly.
‘Normal’ is the new ‘Normal’.......................
“Everywhere is freaks and hairys
Dykes and fairies
Tell me where is sanity?
Tax the rich, feed the poor
Till there are no, rich no more
I’d love to change the world
But I don’t know what to do”
but when the abnormal people outnumber the normal people then the normal people become abnormal
I like Ann Coulter’s comment. I’m a raging moderate. All the rest of you are crazy.
Why I'm not a conservative

I'm not a “conservative” because I see precious little left in this world worth conserving. Conservatives, from my experience, do not make good freedom fighters. They seem to think a victory is holding back attacks on liberty or minimizing them. They are forever on the defensive trying to conserve or preserve an apple that is rotten to the core.
What is the rotten apple? You can see it in the government schools that dumb down American kids. You can see it in the universities that pervert the concepts of knowledge and wisdom. You can see it in the federalization and militarization of law enforcement. You can see it in the proliferation of non-constitutional government. You can see it in the real “trickle-down economics” of confiscatory taxes. You can see it in the unaccountable authorities which give us global treaties. You can see it in the relentless attacks on marriage and the family. You can see it in euthanasia, population control and the phony “right” to abortion on demand. You can see it in the surrender of our national security. snip

Conservatives are first among normals. They are exceptionally common sense driven with a healthy sense of moral rights and wrongs. Leftists are perverts and twisted freaks often with major psychological problems.
My problem with being called a conservative is that conservatism does not work for conservatives, but only for the corporate Chamber of Commerce crowd.
If you count all democrats as abnormal, then that can be true.
At work maybe 15 years ago, HR posted the usual government notice about no discrimination against minorities allowed. A news article came out that said whites were going to be a minority in California in a few years, so I cut it out and taped it to the glass next to the official government admonition. It lasted a couple weeks before anybody noticed and tore it down.
I am a pragmatist. if it is working why fix it.
I will take any good idea I hear from the left or the right....I just think at this point in history the left is full of shit and out of good ideas.
I believe sticking to any political ideal where you end up performing mental gymnastics is proof that maybe the idea or value is wrong.
I believe in the use of Band-Aids when it comes to some political problem because if you are so busy trying to win an argument that the patient dies then you have lost the argument.
I do not believe in perfection of ideals because no one can ever get anyone to agree to the same ideals.
I believe that there is no winning a political fight because the fight is never over all you can do is preserve your self and what you are fighting for.
I also believe I am normal.
To someone who does not measure what is going on in the world by the Bible, he might think your “Why I am a Conservative” is spot on.
Passages such as 2 Thess. 2:3,4, says otherwise. It says the world will increase in its rebellion against God, and the beliefs, principles, and values of the Bible, until the chief individual of that rebellion arises. Then those who don’t believe God, or their Bibles, will follow him...to their destruction.
Christians who are not deceived by all this, will constitute the opposition. As Christian Conservatives, holding to, CONSERVING, preserving, the principles and values taught in the Bible, they are the antithesis of the godless rebellion.
Your excerpt is right, fighters for the right are sorely needed, but, sorry to disappoint you, the victory is going to be that of us Christian Conservative fighters, that you have such a low opinion of. Christ, at his 2nd coming, will defeat the godless rebellion...we see increasing almost moment by moment.
Our task, meanwhile, is to be conservatives, seek to conserve true principles and values amidst the godless rebellion.
Now, unless one doesn’t believe the Bible (or is a preterist, or a post-millennialist, which is quite another subject), “Christian Conservative” - a term you apparently abhor - is precisely what we should be.
Oops, left out the word “not:”
To someone who does not measure what is going on in the world by the Bible, he might think your Why I am NOT a Conservative is spot on.
“Questioning it? No, I know youre lying.”
Exaaaactly.
Sorry, wrong thread. I’ll go take my nap now.
I don’t have the time to read through all 152 posts on that link. What is it in particular, in that thread, that you want me to see?
Whatever it is, I doubt it can countermand the conservatism implicit in the Bible.
