Anywhere the $15/hr rule is in effect.
How about a hint for the video impaired?
I’m not clicking on the clickbait. But I will put in my 2 cents to say I’m not a believer that wait staff are “entitled” to a tip. If the service is bad the tip will be less. If the service is awful there will be no tip at all.
Mr. Pink was right.
Bad service, bad food, this ain’t no welfare here. He’s leaving no tip.
Was say you FReepers?
It is okay to tip “less” where there is a buffet, and the waitperson does almost nothing related to providing service for your food and drinks. It is okay to tip less if the waitperson is utterly rude, negligent, or incompetent. Sometimes this might be zero. For example, if you had to ask 3 times for silverware, and never got it before your food got cold, it would be defendable to not leave a tip.
My feelings are he went to Cracker Barrel what did he expect?
Maybe some FReepers like it but I don’t.
I miss the old Shoney’s big boy.
The question should be HTF did we ever get roped into the tipping bs to begin with!
Today it’s not just eateries anymore; everyone you cross paths with has his hand out, and PC dictates you cross those palms! Sounds like maybe mafia had something to do w/it!
Fine and dandy back in the days when the stagecoach stopped at an inn in the countryside, and the cute? Innkeepers dotter
was so appreciative of a penny or two...just because...
BTW, what became of that NO More PC! we heard so much about b4 that election?

Yup, esp when they’re making more than the persons they’re serving.

When the grits are runny? Oh hell no. They mess that up and they not getting jack. If they can’t cook grits they don’t need to be in the restaurant business.

I passed on the vid also. But I’ll just add that when I have a good-natured waitperson who does an outstanding job, it’s a pleasure to leave a big tip.
Cracker Barrel used to be great road trip food...always clean and friendly. Not so much anymore
They can’t get good help. The staff is lousy. Everything ET said? I’ve seen at cracker barrel. Take forever to get a seat, to come out and serve you, good not right, dirty tables.
Think it’s the young people and no work ethic.
in that situation I generally leave a penny for a tip. It lets them know you didn't just forget but were dissatisfied.
I never do vids, I would much prefer to read, or scan quickly if it's low density material.
Tipping? I generally tip at least 15% unless the server was awful. These folks work pretty hard, and I want to help them on their way.
If a server insulted me, or made some kind of anti American, Veteran, or law enforcement statement...no tip for you.
Is the waitress guilty?
I’d say that a place like cracker barrel almost always requires a tip. Those places don’t pay waitress staff near minimum wage. They are in the $3 an hour category of help.
Also, it is not the waitress’s fault if the manager doesn’t schedule enough waitresses, cooks, or staff for any given shift/day.
I look at a waitress and I see a young mom trying to help make ends meet for a family.
10% is my minimum. 20% my upper.
People tip the same... then offer excuses as to why it’s more or less than others. In the last 50 years there was ONE time I didn’t leave a tip.
If a person can’t afford to tip the server they can’t afford to eat out... they should stay home.
