Lawyers representing one of the seven men set to go on trial next week in Las Vegas in connection with the Bunkerville Standoff in 2014, Ryan Payne, say Payne wants the trial delayed because of the mass murder-shooting that occurred there Sunday night.
The lawyers cite the carnage involving the use of firearms would prejudice a jury that might hear the Second Amendment defense offered as a defense for the actions of Payne during the April 12, 2014 standoff near Bundy Ranch.
The lawyers say their defendant is also worried because the man implicated as the shooter, Stephen Paddock, was a resident of Mesquite, Nevada which located just a few miles from the scene of the standoff.
The federal government accuses some defendants in the case of carrying rifles and pointing them at federal agents during the standoff......
Also of concern to Ryan Payne is the sudden high profile of a witness in the Bunkerville Standoff case. Clark County Sheriff Joe Lombardo, point man for the investigation of the mass murder-shooting, was at Bunkerville communicating between the Bureau of Land Management and Cliven Bundy and negotiating the return of Bundy's cattle by the BLM that descended into the standoff situation.......

Seven men were set to go on trial (Cliven Bundy, Ammon Bundy, Ryan Bundy, Ryan Payne, Pete Santilli, Eric Parker and Scott Drexler.
For one of the defendants this has turned into a request to delay the trial.
It also appears that Pete Santilli has reached a plea deal with the feds. That is on "Portland Oregonian/Oregon Live" reporter Maxine Bernstein's Twitter feed.
Ammon Bundy's lawyer is reported to be supporting the motion by Ryan Payne with Ryan Bundy reported to be opposed.
Worth noting, Bunkerville is right next to Mesquite.
A bit of a contrast between the
Two incidents.
Motion probably will be denied. Def needs more than a “concern.”
Defense lawyers pointed out that no one got hurt that day and everyone went home as the federal prosecutors in the two previous trials with their witnesses tried to make it sound like a battlefield.
NO SHOTS FIRED, NO ONE HURT AT BUNKERVILLE.....that’s the bottom line.
Was Las Vegas a wet ops to taint the jury pool that got out of hand? No telling what the ‘deep state’ will do to implement gun confiscation.
Is this the same Pete Santilli who referred to the Baltimore riots as an uprising?
A bit of a contrast between the
Two incidents.
Frankly Scarlett, the contrast is so extreme, it points to the utter impossibility of what might be called a fair trial in that location or for that matter any other location at this particular time or two or five years hence. Not only that, but the outcome of the only incident able to be called such, was peaceful with no one hurt or killed, other than the ego of the Government.
The other mentioned “incident” was anything but. Instead we saw a life changing horrific disaster for some 600 people and an unforgettable experience for approximately 22,000 thousand attendees as well as the thousands of responders across the valley. The contrast so extreme puts the Bundy Ranch standoff in the class of puny by comparison and yet the prosecution will be full speed ahead seeking “justice” for them at the expense of “we the people”.
Thanks for expanding my thought.
I was pondering the difference between the

Soulless Psychopaths.
Thanks for not taking offense at the “Frankly Scarlett”, none of which was aimed at you.
Pete Santilli the internet broadcaster who was on “Guerilla Media Network”.
He is quite a character. He always showed up where protests were going on.
I saw the video he made in Burns, OR the night LaVoy Finicum was gunned down, the others arrested.
He was outside the hospital where the apparently gunshot injured by the FBI Ryan Bundy was being treated.
Santilli was vaping in the video. Later that night he was arrested.
Some say Santilli is an informant, a plant. I don’t know the answer to that, but his case had potential to hurt First Amendment rights if he were to be convicted for his media work.
