For months now, we've written about how too many in the blogosphere believe they are "breaking" news and are given such kudos when they really have not. The Washington Free Beacon "broke" a story about the nonprofit Southern Poverty Law Center and their Cayman Islands bank accounts.
The problem is this is NOT breaking news. We decided to take on the SPLC weeks ago and linked to pieces written as far back as the 80's about their impressive financial holdings and even a Daily Kos piece in 2010 about their Cayman Islands bank accounts.

An interesting point, but the facts about the SPLC are worth bringing back to the fore because of its recent branding of regular folks who just happen to disagree with them as parts of a “hate group”.
You know, the machinations of the Democrat party “superdelegates” and the Democrats not adhering to a fair system have been known for years. But the Bernie voters sure cared when the Debbie Wassermann Schultz began using it as a weapon against their candidate.
During Hurricane Katrina, the methods for state governors asking for federal assistance were based upon many years previous. To wit, the federal government was NOT to embark upon any action until the state’s government made a formal request. The failed Democrat governor, Kate Blanco IIRC, refused to ask President Bush for help. Bush, to his credit, had FEMA and personnel deployed NEAR Louisiana but by law had to wait. If he went in before being asked, he would have been accused of “invading” the area.
So yeah, bringing up facts that are known about this liberal organization is just fine.
No, you can post your blog junk right here in full.
How's your fundraiser going?
Getting lots of traffic from Free Republic?
As Groucho Marx once said, “There’s no such thing as an ‘old joke’ if you’ve never heard it before.”
‘Breaking News’ is the same way. If you didn’t know it was ‘old news’ then, for you, it IS Breaking News.............
A friend of me stated during his police academy class the officer cited the SPLC, and my friend corrected him with some facts.
It is stunning to see so many cite these communist lying scumbags as if they are neutral , and tell the truth.
They need to write about Morris Dees divorce papers and his victim. His minor stepdaughter.
Didn’t JFK mention this when he was prez? Such brilliant reporting!
Where is the IRS.... how does a 501c3 tax exempt organization do these money transfers? Sure looks like money laundering to me.
The immorality of the CEO and leaders of the SPLC is also not breaking news but because the MSM thinks of the SPLC as a pet, they leave them alone.
