I have a friend who has a Mossberg 930 JM Pro-Series “Tactical Class.”
Right out of the box it had problems with jamming.
Still does.
During that last Mission Impossible job, I wandered into Wal*Mart looking for a 2nd set of sheets for my very stylish (!) WM king-size bedding. (Oh I have very exclusive WM taste!). Somehow I eventually found them. Don’t know if it was that day or not.
As I often did, I wandered by Sporting Goods to check out 9mm supplies (had been scarce a few years ago). There was the brand-new Mossberg, just put out that day. I had been looking at it in Kansas where it was $30 cheaper at the WM near the MI job. And here it was on a Thanksgiving Sale for about $90 more off.
So I turned to the guy who worked there (at that time) with whom I conversed with frequently and asked him how long it had been out. ‘We just put it out today” he said. “Got the box?” I asked. ‘Yes”. “Well, then, let’s wrap it up”.
So, as you can see, I can’t let it get dirty by shooting it just yet. LOL
Got a new rifle there too - that same year.
That was before WM’s latest purge of decent weapons.
I have a Remington 870 Express Tactical that I picked up from Walmart about five years ago. I changed the recoil pad to a Limb Saver but that’s the only thing I’ve changed on it. I could not be happier.
*Although I admit I REALLY like the lines of a lot of Benellis.
Yea, looks a little brutal on the wrist to me too.
I had a Benelli M1 Super 90. It was the prettiest gun I have ever seen, if you like that style. It was reliable but I got tired of the recoil. It kicked like a mule.
It kicked harder than my grandfather’s old Essex single barrel.
Nice post!
I’ve shot mine with an extended arm. But it has wood furniture and a pound of lead in the butt.
Got to get one. From what I’ve read, they will feed mini shotgun shells reliably.
Read a write up on this gun where the author said he fired many mini-12 rounds consecutively. These were buck shot rounds. He said 2 3/4 were more than he wanted and could not imagine 3 1/4s. The minis also had good patterns at closer ranges as would be in home defense.
Pretty fancy farm implement.
You have lead in your butt?
Looks more like cottage cheese...../S
Name dropper.... :-D
Nice review, thanks for the link.
I can’t imagine shooting this thing.
I own 2 Mossberg 500 12Ga shotguns. They were purchased 12 years apart.
The newer on is guaranteed to bruise your shoulder with every shell fired.
The older one, which looks identical except for the wooden stock being slightly lighter in color, has no more kick than a .22LR. No idea why this is, but I always take the older one when I go hunting.
In some states when you put a pistol grip on it becomes a pistol and you then need a pistol permit.
Amazing I must say
Eons, maybe, but still only a matter of time.
Gotta get me one of these -- and re-grip it...
Just saw #21. Guess its in all states.
