Boer goats. They are heavily muscled and THE meat goat. Their dispositions are pretty good too. Plus they have floppy ears like your hounds.

The alpaca do eat brush and they can be eaten.

Alpaca tastes like.... alpaca. It really has a flavor all it's own. Not a bit like chicken. :)

It is very low in fat. Treat it pretty much the way you would venison.

Tha fainting goat is a meat breed but you need to find someone specifically breeding for that. Some people are breeding them to be small, cute pets. Much easier to fence in than most goats due to their leg stiffness condition. Kikos are big and can be a bit on the wild side. The breed was created by mixing domestic goats with wild goats. Boer was created in dry Africa and so they have parasite and hoof problems in most of the US. High maintenance. Spanish meat goats are another breed of meat goat. I think it’s the biggest breed for the commercial growers.
