A rule of thumb is: where there is old money, you will find some connection to slavery. So of course it wasn’t hard to determine that Anderson Cooper was connected, in a familial way, to slavery. His bloodline is tied to the Vanderbilts, one of the richest families in American history. Cooper’s great-great-grandfather, Cornelius Vanderbilt – who was also Cooper’s cousin through inbreeding – was a tycoon who built his wealth from shipping and railroads. He also owned plantations: one in particular was in Georgetown, S.C., where Michelle Robinson Obama’s ancestor Jim Robinson, who was born a slave in 1850, worked.

I’d say that statue needs to come down!
Well, since WE are being given the burden of guilt over slavery, even though WE did not have slaves, and in most cases did not descend from slave owners, then these people must be forced to bear the burden of guilt over slavery. What’s fair is fair.
Anderson Cooper must be stripped of all his money, and it should be given to Blacks. Then all pictures of him must be destroyed.
You want fair? This is fair.

I think it would be interesting to have a genealogist(s) research EVERY DEMOCRAT in Congress to see if their ancestors owned slaves. That would also include black, native Americans, Asian, Middle Eastern, Jewish, etc., etc, slaves. Slavery has been around for thousands of years and it would be very funny to find out that Pelosi, or Biden, or Schumer, or Warren, or ... were descended from slave owners. AND THEN BROADCAST THAT INFORMATION so everybody would know.

No kidding. My father's family didn't show up in the US until the 1860s at the earliest, and they first resided in New York and Illinois. My mother's family didn't show up in the US until the early 1900s.
