On Friday the Washington Free Beacon reported that leading members of the House Judiciary Committee and Government Oversight Committee are “interested” in conducting their own independent investigation into the reports of “illicit IT activity,” which could include asking for the on-record testimony of Rep. Wasserman Schultz.

"In addition to the criminal case that is now underway, Congress needs to get answers regarding the scope of Imran Awan's misconduct and the access he had to sensitive material in the United States House of Representatives, including why he remained on the House payroll for so long," Rep. Ron DeSantis (R-FL), a member of the Government Oversight Committee and chair of its National Security Subcommittee said.

"The facts as we know them are very troubling and we need a full accounting of his time at both the DNC and the U.S. House," Rep. DeSantis said. "Congressional hearings are in order."

Interesting development on the individuals behind the complaint filed against Imran Awan. At first it was rumored that Debbie Wasserman Schultz's brother was involved in the case.

Confusion over this likely comes from this…The legal complaint filed against Imran Awan was filed in US District Court for the District of Columbia.

Steven Wasserman, DWS’s brother, IS an Assistant US Attorney at US Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia. But Wasserman is one of 350 Assistant U.S. Attorneys in that office. Steven Wasserman's name is NOT on that criminal complaint. That criminal complaint was signed by Michael J. Marando, another one of the 350.

Now, this is where it gets interesting. (via NYT 4/25/2015): Michael J. Marando is married to JoAnna Wasserman.

Another disturbing fact about the complaint against Imran Awan surfaced - The .complaint incorrectly states the loan was insured by FDIC. Congressional Credit Union loans are insured by the National Credit Union Association (NCUA). This error sets up as a potential material flaw in the complaint to get the whole thing thrown out on a technicality . Single payer is a lot worse than that. We can’t ever give these people control over our healthcare. It would mean control over our very lives, soon enough devolving into death panels and pharmical starvation, where you’re denied your medications if it’s deemed too expensive.
