Then they should have vetted these people better before nominating them. What a friggin waste of time and money. It looks like they didn’t know what they were doing.
Hell done froze over... you commented.
Completely agree. Fire him immediately. Bending over to your enemies doesn’t work - and has never worked.
Wait for the August recess, Fire Sessions, appoint a Pit Bull, and let loose the Pit of War.
Sessions does not work with an audience. Everything he does is behind the scenes until it is ready for disposition.
You want him pounding his fist and screaming into a mike. Ridiculous!
Yesterday this needs to be done. I have been saying this for 2 months. Sessions is hamstrung by his recusal. Fire him. Get someone who can act. It is like the AG is just absentt MIA.
Sessions could be the undoing of Trump. Most of Trump’s trouble could be traced back to appointing Sessions as AG and, to a lesser extent, retaining Comey as FBI director.
Sessions shouldn’t have recused himself & should rescind the recusal.
Having said that, Sessions has been great so far on illegal immigrants. He wants them out & doesn’t care if they label him a racist or other names. It would be hard to find another person dedicated to eliminating illegals. Sessions resignation is exactly what the open borders crowd wants.
Trump Abolished Obama-era Deportation Postponement for Illegal Aliens, Says Report
In the immortal words of Leo Durocher,”NICE GUYS FINISH LAST”
POTUS, Take Note !!
As Rush said, this investigation is based on Comey being fired. But this is not a crime. The FBI Director serves at the pleasure of the President and can be fired for any reason. And since there is no underlying crime, there is no legitimate reason for a Special Counsel.
Wouldn’t he need to show that collusion is even a crime before anything else? If there is no crime there should be no investigation.
I totally agree.
On top of that, Jeff Sessions is appearing more and more like an old school authoritarian with respect to individual rights. His embrace of strict enforcement of marijuana laws (the unconstitutional federal kind) was absurd, as was his stated intention of using Tyrannical civil asset forfeiture even more aggressively.
Donald Trump has historically been more libertarian-minded on many issues, and these old hard Right nanny-state solutions have failed just a miserably as the hard Left nanny-state ones have.
Combine that with Sessions' meek demeanor, and he's simply the wrong person at the wrong time in the wrong position.
He deserved to be rewarded for his loyalty to Trump, but how did he answer that loyalty? By panicking and recusing himself when it wasn't necessary, and without even consulting the President who appointed him!
“giving it a deadline to yield proof of collusion”
Rosenstein didn’t even put that parameter on it. It’s open ended, just “find something, anything”.
The Special Counsel law was not put into effect for the benefit of the opposing party to use the justice system to harass the winner of an election.
Rosenstein had no right to invoke it in this case because he was the one who wrote the memo recommending Comey be terminated. Did he recuse himself because he feels he’s now part of an “obstruction” case?
At the very minimum, Rosenstein SHOULD have put parameters on the investigation, but he didn’t.
Which to me means he’s part of the conspiracy to frame Trump for something, anything. It’s a set from the get.
And there is no authority to do so to an elected President just because the opposing party can’t figure out who’s leaking information from their email servers.
He can replace him with a Democrat.
I agree. The question I ask myself is, "who would make a good, 'take no Democrat or liberal prisoners' AG?"
For years, we've seen nothing but kabuki theater from all our Republican friends in Congress - Trey Goudy, Ted Cruz and Jeff Sessions included. I'm afraid that no one is up to the task of truly draining the swamp as in putting liberals in high places in jail. In any other world, the Clinton's would be in jail along with a slew of other Democrats (Lynch, Holder, Lerner ....); Obama would have been denied the Presidency because he is not eligible, etc., etc., etc.
Call me cynical, but asking Congress-Critters to clean house (no pun intended) is like asking the fox to guard the hen-house. It just won't happen.
It will take a miracle to see our government revert to the constitutional republic it was intended to be.
This is kind of a conundrum.
On the one hand, Sessions was a US Senator, a creature of the swamp.
His wimping out right out of the gate in regards to the russian inquisition led to mounting doubts.
He may be good for some other job, but AG of DOJ isn’t it.
We don’t need a one trick pony wimp swamp creature for this job.
We need a real law and order nonpartisan untouchable rabid
pitbull who will not back down, and will abide by the US Constitution.
The executive branch of the federal government enforces the law. That is their Constitutional obligation. Time to start doing that.
For McNabn first
Sessions will be a great AG imho.
No, he should NOT get rid of Sessions. I’m hoping someone will talk Sessions into releasing the cost to date to the taxpayer of the Special Council. If anything could put totally legal pressure on that group it would be letting the people know what it costs
