Ben Carson correctly explains how a mindset keeps people in poverty; left predictably goes bananas

Because if you have power to change your situation, then you don't need to rely on them

There is nothing liberals hate more than the suggestion that people with problems in their lives have the power to solve those problems, on their own, by making changes in their lives. They freak out at any such suggestion and paint it as “blaming the victim.” But it is really not that at all. It is simply a recognition that people make their own decisions and form their own attitudes, and that they have the power to change those decisions and attitudes if necessary to improve their lives.

If you’ve always made bad decisions, that doesn’t mean you always will make bad decisions. You can change and start making good ones. Many people have done so and you can learn from them. If you’ve always had bad habits, you don’t always have to keep those bad habits. You can reject them and embrace better ones. Find someone who has done so and find out how they did it, then do likewise. A cynic will tell you it can’t be done, but that’s not true. We can all improve ourselves.

It’s called freedom (take it or leave it) and THIS is the United States of America...take it or leave it.

Larry Elder has always had a few rules to avoid poverty. Let’s see if I have them correctly. Finish high school. Work. Don’t have a child young. And don’t have a child until you are married. Guaranteed to avoid poverty.

If you’ve always made bad decisions, that doesn’t mean you always will make bad decisions.

Or, as my wife is wont to say, "If you always do what you always did, you'll always get what you always got".

Lots of ‘bad decisions’ are caused by insane incentives set-up by liberals... liberals who are more concerned with how they feel about themselves than about the effects of their ‘charity’.

Here’s one example of how government incentives destroyed the black communities - - in the horrors called ‘The Great Society’:

A young woman gets pregnant (been happening since the dawn of time) and the young man decides to ‘make an honest woman of her’... Except President Johnson has added a sick ‘incentive’ NOT to marry the young woman. He says, “YOU can give birth FOR FREE - ALL EXPENSES PAID... IF YOU DON’T MARRY THE YOUNG MAN WHO GOT YOU PREGNANT. You can marry him AFTER you give birth.”

Of course, after the young woman gives birth she’s not as much fun AND a new incentive from the Great Society appears: “YOU CAN HAVE THE STATE BE YOUR HUSBAND” and the State won’t ask you to iron his shirts or cook his meals... AND you get a free apartment, free food, you don’t have to answer to a husband or a mother and you don’t have to finish high school.. YOU can have it all.”

And the money at 17 looked good - better than at 37 - middle aged without education, job skills respect, or a husband... or father for her children.

And today, liberal elites still think they did a favor for the black community by destroying their families... well, a ‘favor’ that included (for them)the perk of a large dependent voting bloc waiting for one more handout that will make it all better again... like it felt when they were 17...

There's no one on the left intelligent enough to follow Carson's line of reasoning and logic. If there were, they wouldn't be "on the left".

Please don’t applaud Sean_Anthony for posting this. The guy is a bona fide click farmer, who only posts here in order to drive eyeballs to Canada Free Press, for the express purpose of generating revenue from the advertisers on that site.

His posting history is devoid of comments or replies, going back years. Check it if you don’t believe me.

Not having a full time decent paying job leads to poverty.

While there are people too lazy to work, there are 94 million Americans of working age unemployed, they are not all too lazy to work. There are not 94 million jobs openings out there! We have sent our jobs out of country and kept salary/wage increases far below inflation for the bottom half of the workforce. Gee I wonder why we have such poverty?!

The best way out of poverty is a small business or trade under the table due to govt regulation.
