Especially a certain regime used to having the president of the United States excuse their evil
The key bit starts around 9:00, and what makes it so extraordinary is not so much that Trump condemns terrorism - even Obama was willing to do that at least rhetorically - but because he put so much emphasis on who the victims are, and refused to countenance the usual excuses offered to explain away the motivations of individual terrorists.
And Trump laid it out in a surprisingly eloquent manner: The potential of the Middle East itself is held back by terrorism. No way should a region that rich be a place from which refugees flee, and yet it happens with regularity. Its not because the region doesnt have enough wealth. It has plenty. But the ever-present threat of extremist violence always makes the region to unstable to be a suitable home for far too many people.
I listened to the speech this morning. Probably the best foreign policy speech on the Middle East ever.
Wuh-oh. Looks like the U.S. ran out of milktoasts.
Actually outstanding points. Trump got where he is because he sees a glass half full, realistically sees things as they could be and the positives instead of all the bad.
Redeeming. Inspiring. America first. Leadership. Good luck against the deck that is stacked against him.
It was excellent. I despise the American media for not giving credit to Trump. In fact, f*ck the media.
Thank you for all the great topics from the CFP. The articles are well written and on point.
p.s. I note your nemesis has given up trying to get your attention.
I turned on the radio at 8 this morning, hoping to hear on the news what Trump is doing in the Middle East today. The reporters said nothing about him; instead they talked about the terrorist attack at the Ariana Grande concert, and local crime stories. Knowing how the media feels about Trump, I believe that in the future, if I don’t hear headline stories about the president on any given day, it will mean he’s having a good day.
