Wow this is weird. I work with Captain Demchko here in Okinawa. Had no idea she filmed this. Shows what I know. I don’t belong Eve women should be in the infantry, but she is a fine Marine officer without question.
I am so sorry you had to go through that. I thank the Lord my son’s time came in 2003. I could encourage him and a family friend, who landed in the first waves on Tarawa, welcomed him to the Corps.
I’m sure she is a fine Officer, it’s just that women don’t have the same physical abilities as we male chauvinists :-)
That took me some time to go through, but thank you. A lot of helpful information I found there, and as my son just said today.
Everyone should go through Parris Island, including officers, which this woman is one, and therefore never went to boot camp at Parris Island, nor did the MCT at Camp Geiger.
I guarantee that she took the easy way to the Corps of doing ROTC in college, then the ten weeks at Quantico.
My oldest did his time at Parris Island, then MCT, then MOS school, and now is finishing his degree up to apply for officer school.
My son said that the females are not treated the same at Parris Island, nor are they given the same fitness tests to get in the Corps, to graduate, and a lot of females on the crucible did not carry their packs like the guys had to, and yet those females graduated.
He and others were fuming over the double standard.
This female officer Marine I bet went through easy street by doing ROTC in college, and then doing just ten weeks at Quantico, therefore by passing Parris Island, and Camp Geiger for MCT.
good
My auto correct ruined my post, I meant to say I don’t believe women belong in combat MOS’s either. She’s great as a logistician.
The idea of women in combat is neat, not lying in its own blood. Note the Marines in the background: tactical pause.
Females in combat is en vogue, but it causes, and will continue to cause men in combat to change their behaviors. That is not good.
Reality is reality. Wishful thinking in war can be deadly.
Nor emotionally either
Stupid weak soft culture
I wonder if she learned anything at all from the experience?
Love it.
Honestly if women want to be in combat with men, they should have no problems competing against male athletes in every sport. Combat is way more serious than a sporting game.
I was Army 11B Infantry Enlisted with multiple deployments. This garbage will destroy the Infantry if implemented at Ft. Benning where I did OSUT. It is absolutely incompatible within this MOS stateside and much more so in combat especially the Mideast. On a side note, I want my daughter as far away from this idiocy as possible which includes Selective Service.
How incredidibly stupid was that? I know plenty of women who have lots of guts, but that wasn’t that That was simply stupidity.
That’s the problem, or at least a good part of it. There’s a sizable portion of women out there in the world and some portion of men Who have watched movies coming out of Hollywood, and they believe that crap.
They think that some gorgeous 120 pound female in high heels is going to stand up and kick ass on either one man, never mind three or four of them at once.
They actually believe it. They think that there is nothing that a man can do, that a woman cannot. Intellectually that may or may not be true, but that isn’t really the debate. Physically, the concept is stupid, and it is insane for us to pretend otherwise, particularly with respect to the military, but also with respect to things like fire fighting, and police work.
It’s crazy. They have this incredible delusion. I find the fact that this delusion is widely held to be somewhat unsettling, to say the least.
Amen, Brother. Hollywood has too much influence on some people. Their expectations become too unrealistic.
I agree. Thanks for your service too!
Thought it was an interesting take.
The thing that really pisses me off about it, is that people are going to lose their lives needlessly. And when it happens, the people who made this idiocy happen, will be nowhere to be found, and will never be called to account for it.
