According to the gun-control left, this never happens. The good guys with guns scenario is pure fiction. In fact, when someone tries to use their own gun to stop a bad guy, what usually ends up happening is that he ends up shooting himself!
There is no end to the lefts ability to imagine virtuous, God-fearing Americans as completely inept clowns.

The Left continually engages in projection.
It is my opinion that anyone in that position will have to let the crazy shoot at least 1 person before taking action. Lawyers. Letting the perp shoot and miss isn’t good enough. Anyone can say the concealed carry guy shot first and is guilty of murder.
The dead perp in this incident was a black man who reportedly was shouting racial epithets prior to shooting the manager. You may be right in that shooting the perp before he shot the manager may have put the CCW holder in some legal jeopardy. But if I was on the jury and was presented a situation where an apparent crazed individual came in brandishing and screaming threats I might conclude that the CCW carrier may reasonably have felt in fear for his life.
The defendant would have my vote on that, too.
“After he was struck once, the suspect started shooting at the front door,”
Not a very complete report; did the perp simply bleed out, or was he shot again before he was finally killed?

Good people don't shoot a man that's down and defenseless - even when he's a criminal. You're confusing the hero with a lowlife type criminal mentality. Kinda insulting...
Should have let the police handle it, he could have hit someone with a stray bullet!!!

According to the article: "After he was struck once, the suspect started shooting at the front door," Cook told the Arlington Voice. "We know people were trying to escape, but we're not sure if he was just trying to harm others."
That sure doesn't sound like he was down and defenseless. But it begs the question, do you stop shooting when the perp goes down even though he's still firing?

If he is still shooting, down or not, he is still a threat.
You shoot to STOP. If the perp has not stopped, you should keep shooing.
The night and day after this happened, the HERO was called a good samaritan... Finally the right word is used!

Two people died Wednesday night at a popular sports bar in Arlington, Texas, including a
suspected gunman who police say was shot to death by an armed customer.
Officers from the Arlington Police Department responded to a 911 call of a shooting at
Zona Caliente Sports Bar & Grill around 6:17 p.m. local time.
On the basis of multiple witnesses accounts, detectives say they believe the male suspect
walked into the restaurant and confronted an employee. During the argument, the suspect
pulled out a gun and fatally shot the employee, police said.
A customer who had a handgun saw the shooting and fired his weapon, striking the suspect.
The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police, who have not named them.
We have two confirmed deceased in this shooting incident, Lt. Christopher Cook of the
Arlington Police Department told reporters Wednesday. We believe the shooter is one of
those deceased, who was killed by a customer in the location after the suspect shot
and killed someone inside the restaurant.

If he’s still shooting he’s NOT defenseless....
Why would you respond this way?
My comment was directed at this bit of reporting: After he was struck once, the suspect started shooting at the front door,
And, as there is a gap in the narrative, I simply asked: what happened next? Do you know?
I understand that the longest 30 seconds in a cop’s life are just after he/she shoots someone because the cop never knows if the perp is gong to pull the trigger again.
“...striking the suspect. The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene, “
Thanks for the reply, but this is more incomplete reporting. Between the (above) two instances of the word ‘suspect’, there is more that happened.
