Here's the top 5 9mm Carbines out on the market. These carbines are popular by the quality, ease of use, personal defense capability and of course the availability of the 9mm rounds.
What about you?, whats your favorite 9mm carbine? See the rest of the top 9mm carbine video here.
Yes, close enough for short range work.
If the battery in the RGB dot goes dead I still have the front sight to get it done.
I see you are a discerning and intelligent man. 30 carbine is actually a badass little round. Especially in the era of softpoints. At 100 yards, it exceeds a 357 mag at the muzzle.
I used a 16" .357 Winchester 92 clone as a "utility carbine" for some years, until my aging eyes made the close-coupled irons virtually unusable. The thing got a fair amount of extra steam out of the factory loads I always used in it, and I just assumed the 9mm Parabellum would likewise gain from the longer tube, AND the carbines chambered for it would be equally reliable. Plus, adding optics would be a no-brainer.
To make a long and expensive story short, I eventually threw up my hands and decided that a .223/5.56 carbine was not only more cost effective, but far more dependable than any 9mm carbine I could hope to own. Were I blessed with the eyesight I still had at 40, that .357 carbine would still be close at hand.

You want a Keltec Sub2000 in 9mm Glock. They come in either Glock, M&P, or Beretta magazine compatibility.
Thanks. I've had mine for about two years, but have chosen to leave the iron sights on. I figure if I ever have to use it for self defense, the work will be at close range anyway.
Of course none are Califoria legal.
The careers is ALMOST wound down and I will finally be abel to escape Gulag Kalifornia for the USA. Virginia specifically. I hope VA doesn’t turn blue in the meantime. I think all these are legal in Virginia.
I will go to my grave wishing the M1 Carbine had been chambered in .45 ACP. It would have eliminated the creation, manufacture, and logistical transport of an entire cartridge, simplifying everything.
The M1 Carbine was designed to be a close quarters support weapon for rear echelon troops. Never mind that it was used at the front. It would have been just as effective if not more so effective chambered in .45 ACP. We used hollow points and the .45 made a bigger hole than the .30 Carbine with full penetration. Period.
I will NEVER understand why the M1 Carbine was not chambered in .45 ACP, unless the entire thing was a pork barrel boondoggle to create a cartridge and sole source prodution to political friends or some such idiocy.
If the .45 ACP was good enough for the Tommy Gun, it was sure as heck good enough for the mission stated for the M1 Carbine. Yes, I realize the Thompson was full auto. I don’t care. The point is, .45 ACP makes big holes for close up work, and the M1 Carbine was ONLY purposed for close up work. If you are at the front, you should be carry a Garand, not a carbine.
I am fortunate enough to have bought a Marlin 9 and a Ruger PC9 shortly after they went out of production before the prices on them climbed to what they are now.
They are both great guns.
I think the Marlin is the more accurate, I have knocked down bowling pins at 100 yards with it.
If the SHTF I’m grabbing the Ruger, it’s nearly indestructible and shares magazines with the P89.
Since we can’t get anything good here in California, I was excited to see that somebody makes an M1 Carbine clone chambered in 9mm.
Chippa firearms makes the M1-9.

The good news is, it is a sweet little 9mm carbine in a classic package.
The very very bad news is, it is a POS. They changed the action to direct blowback and the gun is a complete jammamatic. It fails to feed and go into battery with stupendous regularity.
Just my luck somebody finally chambers the M! cabine for 9mm, and the company happens to be incompetent.
Crap. Just crap. I would buy 2 of them in a heartbeat if they were quality made by Walthers or even Rossi or other decent manufacturer. Instead, Chiappa is just plain garbage.
Just my luck. Balderdash!
Can you even find mags for the Marlin Camp Carbine anymore?
It has been a long time but I think the Smith & Wesson model 59 mags fit a whole bunch of guns including the Marlin Camp Carbine. That is the 9mm version of course.
Same here, reliable and reasonable accurate. Paid $140 for it a few yrs back.
No especially if you use a 110 grain lead hollow point.30 caliber rd in the m1 carbine, it’s a really nasty rd.

Well, those are pretty common.
Yes, they are everywhere, they are the same as the Smith & Wesson model 59 series semi-autos.
You are correct, Marlin 9 uses S&W 59 mags and Marlin 45 uses 1911 mags.
I’m lucky enough to have both.
Funny how most of us have the same ser of carbines. Of course the best one is the one you have in your hands at the time you need it, all the rest are just runners up.
I tried to work up some 9 mm carbine loads. Don’t have the info handy but Blue Dot was way too slow, couldn’t get enough in the case to get decent velocity. With bullets heavier than 124 grain with I couldn’t get much improvement with any powder over a full sized pistol, just not enough space left in the case to work with.
Negligible recoil and not very expensive either.
