A quick blurb. It is flashing red siren alert time for the Convention of States movement. Hopefully everyone who is signed up with COS received an email to contact six Nebraska senators who are filibustering LR6, the Convention of States Resolution. Should the single house legislature pass this resolution, Nebraska will be the eleventh state to apply for an Article V convention.
For what it is worth, below is my email to these senators:
Senator Lydia Brasch: lbrasch@leg.ne.gov
Senator Matt Hansen: mhansen@leg.ne.gov
Senator Tony Vargas: tvargas@leg.ne.gov
Senator Bob Krist: bkrist@leg.ne.gov
Senator Sue Crawford: scrawford@leg.ne.gov
Senator Adam Morfeld: amorfeld@leg.ne.gov
Dear Senator,
I ask you to reconsider your filibuster of LR6.
The descendants of We the People, of those who ratified the original and amended Nebraska and US Constitutions are the source of your political power. I write without exaggeration that without us and our concurrence to those two compacts of government, we would all be slaves.
Im confident that, in your heart, you know very well how you and your constituents chafe at the heavy hand of the US government. Congress and various agencies threaten loss of funding if Nebraska doesnt follow their diktats. Aside from pleading with distant authoritarian agencies, you are often helpless to assist your people.
It doesnt have to be this way, and an Article V Convention of the States (COS) is the Constitutional means to restore free government, that happy condition wherein government respects and protects the unalienable, Natural Rights of the nation, and makes no law without its consent.
If you are concerned that a COS would runaway into what God only knows, the Framers inserted Article V to prevent resort to revolution, to address and correct errors and outrages that can only be addressed by the Sovereign People. Furthermore, Nebraska delegates to a COS will be limited in their authority by their commissions from the Nebraska legislature. It will be perfectly safe.
Senator, societal pressure is approaching dangerously high levels in the remains of our republic. Free government is largely gone, and only a COS can possibly lead to its restoration.
Please reconsider your opposition to LR6.
Sincerely,
Rodney Dodsworth
Time for action ping!
Forgot about writing them. Find out who is going to run against them and send them money. I suspect they are not going to see the light so make them feel the heat instead.
Public sector unions are already printing material and posting it saying that constitutional conventions are not the answer
Making another shot at it here in Texas tomorrow. Going to Austin to attempt to get this passed out of committee in the House. I understand we have 80% of our Representatives signed on as co-authors of the bill. What stands in our way is this committee of 9 Representatives, 5 R’s and 4 rats. So we need all 5 Republicans to vote yes to get this out of committee. Only 2 of those 5 are committed. Need prayer. I will be in Austin again testifying before the committee.
Galls me to have this much support in the House in general but have all depend on the committee.
Thanks for the update. God bless ‘ya. Is it possible to view your testimony live or recorded?
I’m not sure how the viewing of testimony works but I know it is available. My kids and grandkids have been so entertained by seeing their granny testifying at these that I discovered they’ve had family “live-chats” behind my back. I had sent out an email to all 5 kids to pray for me before my first testimony. Ten hours later when I arrived home I discovered that the youngest daughter had found the online streaming and forwarded it to hubby and the other kids. Later (again, before I even arrived home) she had found an archive of the video and some of the older grandkids had already watched. This was more nerve-wracking than actually speaking in the Senate! LOL
The next time I gave testimony I had 3 of my grandkids from Alabama call to tell me how cool I am! Apparently this is a way to impress goofy teenagers. My oldest granddaughter lives in Oregon. She’s very envious that Texas is so close to passing the resolution. The Alabama grandkids are lording it over everyone that their state was on board before us. Only 3 of our 21 grandkids are old enough to vote but I am counting it victory that my activism is reaching pre-voting age teens. Aside from phone calls, emails and long day-trips to Austin to impact legislators, I’m counting on this training up these grandkids in the way they should go as well. The online videos of which you speak are proving to these kids that liberty is in THEIR hands. Priceless!
